We reached the car rental office much earlier than expected as the custom clearance was much smooth than expected and our flight reached the airport earlier than expected. When we requested if we can collect the car earlier (it was only 1 hr earlier ) with the offer and promise to return an hour earlier than expected time , we were told that we had to pay 15 Euros more which I declined. When I returned to the counter at the agreed pick up time later ; to my surprise the car was not ready as it had to be sent from another terminal . The waiting time was more than an hour and they did not offer any sincere apologies nor express sense of urgency . This resulted me in spending more than 2 hours in total waiting for the car ! :( .
About QEEQ:8.0/10
Booking via QeeQ was quite smooth ; though I bought comprehensive insurance too via QEEQ I was told by recordgo that it does not cover full insurance if I had cross border journey ; which was what I needed . At the end , to be on the safe side I bought insurance from RecordGo as I wanted piece of mid when I crossed the border into France . Perhaps I need to be more careful with insurance coverage on cross border journey and full support
The car received was significantly different from the one booked. The car was too large, making it unsuitable for driving and parking in Barcelona's city center. The pickup location's parking area was very tight, making it difficult to navigate turns. A 1000 Euro deposit was required at pickup, which was not mentioned during the booking.
This car rental company is terrible. They intentionally guide customers to buy insurance. Since I clearly stated I didn't want to buy it and didn't read the contract carefully, I was ultimately charged over 2000 for full coverage.
They promised to change the car the next day but their attitude was extremely rude and provided no explanation. If they had told me on the day of pickup that they didn't have the model I wanted, I would have just left. Why make a promise if you can't keep it? On the second day, their attitude was even worse.
This was the worst car rental experience I've ever had. I waited for the pick-up service for one and a half hours. The process took 40 minutes, and the car I received was not the same class as the one shown online. The most outrageous part was when I returned the car; they tried to blame me for various small damages that were already there. Fortunately, I found photos on their phone showing the car's condition from previous customers, so they had nothing to say. Returning the car still took 30 minutes, and we almost called the police. My €500 deposit has not been returned yet. Can't believe this company is highly rated.
Following the car rental company’s pickup instructions made it very easy to find, just a 2-minute walk from the train station exit and then down an escalator. Upon arrival, the staff suggested I buy a 'better' insurance policy which would significantly reduce the car deposit. Just refuse if you’re not interested and they won't insist. They also suggested towing insurance, saying it would cost 150 euros per tow without it. I said I didn’t mind and had sufficient funds, after which they politely dropped the matter. There’s a daily mileage limit of 300 km, and they listed where there were scratches on the car body in the contract, but they didn't walk me around the car to check these spots until after I'd signed the contract. So, I recommend that when reviewing the car's condition at the start of the contract, you should call an employee to check the car alongside you. Make sure to photograph any existing damages as soon as you get the car, so you can show these to the staff upon return to speed up the return process. The thoughtful staff also wrote down the name of the parking lot to use for return on Google Maps. Overall, the service was decent, and any additional charges they suggested were transparent and clearly explained, including the differences from the insurance I had purchased. Just evaluate it for yourself. (By the way, parking in Barcelona is quite expensive. If you're only exploring the city, consider renting a scooter instead, which costs around 45 euros per day and eliminates parking hassles.)
There were hidden charges during pickup. They clearly stated that without purchasing €131 insurance, they would provide an old car. Indeed, I got a car with almost worn-out tires, which made a lot of noise and vibrated heavily. It was a nerve-wracking drive.
This shop offers delivery to the airport, but I took public transit from Barcelona city center. I contacted the store, and the actual address is Avinguda les Garrigues 46, Mas Blau, Barcelona. I picked up and returned the car here. The staff's English was not very good, making phone communication a bit challenging at first. However, a staff member contacted me via WhatsApp, and they were friendly and patient. The car was inexpensive and in good condition. Returning the car was quick and smooth, with just a brief inspection.
Extremely dissatisfied. I didn't get any car, and the rental company didn't refund me, they just took my rental fee. I only had a scanned electronic version of the translation document. I called the store's customer service to ask, and they said it would be fine to rent a car. However, when I got to the counter, the staff said the original document was necessary. Even after showing them the customer service call records, they said it didn't matter who I spoke with, they wouldn't let me get the car. Then I called the rental company customer service, who said they couldn't do anything, neither resolve the issue nor refund me. So the money was wasted, the store didn't give me the car, and the rental company took the money without any refund. I've rented cars in Europe many times, even in situations where I didn't have the original documents or a credit card, and never had a problem. Even if I couldn't rent the car, I could still negotiate a refund afterwards. This time was truly terrible, I don't even want to give one star. The rental company is really awful! I advise everyone to choose local rental platforms when renting cars in Europe. Even if you can't get the car, you can get a refund, and stay away from Alamo. The customer service and the counter staff work together to scam people.
The car rental customer service was a Spanish lady who tried to sell me additional insurance. Despite me showing proof that I had already purchased full coverage, she refused to look at it and exaggeratedly claimed, 'What you bought is yours, what I recommend is mine. If you didn't buy it...!' We firmly and repeatedly emphasized that we would not purchase additional insurance. We resolutely said NO! Then she got a bit angry and ignored me. After a standoff, I asked if I could get the car keys. She responded that it wasn't 3 PM yet, which was my scheduled pickup time. So, I stepped back a few steps, waited for a few minutes, and received a pickup note or possibly a contract. She vaguely pointed to the side with her hand. I assumed I had to get the keys from the neighboring window, but the lady at the neighboring window told me to go to the parking lot at the back to get the car! Apart from the unpleasant experience with the insurance upselling, everything else was fine. If I had accepted her insurance offer, the total cost would have reached 600 Euros, which is double the price!
