Seamless rental but wary of hidden costs

Very satisfied! This time we had a long rental period and driving distance, 52 days and 21,000 kilometers. Thrifty promised we could visit any of their branches for maintenance or even car replacement at no extra cost or with reimbursement afterward, which made us feel very reassured. This is our second time using Thrifty, and we believe we will choose this rental company again in the future.

They charged me a higher rate than I agreed to through easyrentcars. When I showed them my prenegotiated rate, they said they would only match it if I could show them a daily rate in my confirmation, which it did not have. It only had a total rate. When I got the car, I noticed that they had not cleaned out snacks left by the previous renters. Finally, after driving off the lot, I noticed damage to the underside of the passenger rear view mirror, which was covered with electrical tape, which blended in well with the car’s black paint. I told Thrifty about this damage, but they wouldn’t tell me if it was pre-existing damage they knew about, or if I needed to do anything to document it. Now I’m worried they will try to charge me for it.

Your service worked great, except for Thrifty changing their price on me at the counter.

first car picked up stickers expired before my rental was complete so had to go back and get another car. had to go back to counter. the next car was pretty beat up but served my needs.
