The staff verified everything according to the order and did not push for additional insurance.

The Zuzuche app and public account showed that the pickup was at the international terminal, but when we arrived at the counter, we were told that the pickup was at the domestic terminal, and we couldn't complete the paperwork first. We had to run back and forth, and it took us almost 2 hours to get the car. The instructions from Zuzuche were unclear and unprofessional.

A 41 NZD airport construction fee was charged, which was not clearly mentioned when booking.

The website clearly stated that with a Chinese driver’s license and a translation, we could pick up the car. We even got the translation through the rental site, but the rental company didn’t recognize it! We spent over half an hour trying to explain, but they still refused to give us the car, saying our translated license wasn't valid. We previously used this translation for a whole South Island trip, and Hertz accepted it without issues. Hence, I’m not sure if this is a problem with the rental company or the communication on the rental website. It seriously disrupted our plans and cost us a lot in taxi fares!

The receptionist was very patient. She was quite overweight but still very pretty.

1. They did not recognize the NZTA certified translation. They insisted on a different format from the QEEQ platform, which was just an A4 paper, even though the content was the same. In the end, they only glanced at it and handed it back to me. The service is far worse compared to AVIS and HERTZ. 2. On the day of rental, the Auckland domestic terminal was staffed by a lady who appeared to be of Indian descent. She greeted Westerners enthusiastically but was indifferent towards Chinese customers. 3. The Thrify website clearly states that they accept NZTA certified translations, so why was the Thrifty Auckland domestic rental point so difficult? 4. Despite the difficulties during pickup, the return process was relatively smooth.

There are Chinese-speaking staff, but they said the full insurance we purchased is not accepted.

Very dissatisfied with Thrifty Car Rental's service. We had scheduled to pick up the car at 1:00 PM, but the staff kept us waiting with the excuse that the car was being cleaned. We finally got the keys at 2:47 PM, and it wasn't even the Toyota Highlander we had reserved; they gave us a SsangYong instead. We spent nearly two hours negotiating with the store, and the staff casually said we could return the car later. It was infuriating. The two-hour wait disrupted our travel plans. Why didn't they just be honest about not having the car available? We could have switched to another rental company and saved our time. Very disappointed with Thrifty's service. Small companies often have service issues. I hope others learn from this experience and choose their rental company wisely.

Communication was terrible. The interactions with the rental platform were shocking, and a relatively simple issue wasted over 3 hours of my time, leaving me very disappointed. Although the staff were very polite and genuinely tried to help, their competency was truly questionable.

Due to missing the flight, we sent an email informing them that we couldn't pick up the car on the originally scheduled date and would come one day later at the same time. We were told that the order was canceled, then we informed them that we had already paid in full and did not request a refund for the previous day's rental fee. Hence, we got the car in the morning. The service was good; considering the original time was at dawn, the rental company had staff on duty waiting for us.
