QEEQ suddenly notified us that Hertz wouldn't be open at 6 AM, which was quite surprising. However, we weren't planning to wake up that early anyway. When we arrived at the store, it felt very professional and the instructions were clear. They also provided some advice regarding refueling. Since we had a long drive ahead, we decided to add extra insurance voluntarily. The car pickup process was very quick. Additionally, they thoughtfully told us we could return the car at 8 AM the next day if we wouldn't make it in the evening, with no extra charge. This added more flexibility to our trip.
There was no instruction on how to use the vehicle, which made it difficult for me to open the convertible top. Picking up the keys by myself and then going to the parking lot with my luggage was a bit troublesome.
“Counter staff confused options for insurance. describing packages as good or excellent. No details”
About Hertz:9.3/10
I’ve got a Hertz profile for insurance requested, yet the counter staff confused the options without giving details. “Take excellent or good”, but no details of the packages. Several hundred dollars were added for fear I wasn’t covered properly
The car given was not an Opel but a SEAT León Ecomotive. Even though I can drive a manual minivan in my home country, the manual cars there are quite strange. The car had a burning smell within 1 kilometer. The only replacement car available was a two-door Fiat, which couldn't fit four people. The rental company insisted the car was fine and refused to refund the day's rental fee, resulting in a direct loss of nearly 70 euros.
It is a reputable company, and the car pickup was smooth. They gave me a nearly new car with only 6000 kilometers on it. Although there were some issues during the car return, I am generally satisfied.
The car we picked up was completely different from the one we originally booked. We had booked a Toyota, but the rental company explained that this car model is only available on the islands, not in Athens. They gave us a car of the same type but insisted we buy full insurance. We actually got a Renault, and this car consumes more fuel. Additionally, the tank was not full when we picked it up.
It was quite late when we picked up the car, probably due to the last flight. There was no car inspection arranged; we just filled out a form, which stated that we received the car with a full tank, and were handed the keys. We found the car ourselves in the parking lot. The car was in great condition. We originally booked a manual, but it was upgraded to an automatic, which we were very satisfied with.
