Since my girlfriend and I are both under 25, we had to pay an additional $25 per day for insurance. The staff cleverly used this extra fee to upgrade our car from a Class A to a Class B Taurus (known as Ford Taurus in our country). We enjoyed ten days with a 3.5L V6 engine, which was fantastic.
The rental and return process was very convenient. The car was in excellent condition with less than 16,000 miles. Picking up and returning the car at the airport was very easy.
The store was relatively small, the staff were average in attitude. They didn't try to sell insurance. Once we signed the contract, we took the car and left. The parking lot was indoors and rather small.
I left an umbrella in the car, and due to language barriers, I couldn't get it back. The umbrella was a gift from a meal, meant to be a souvenir, which is a bit disappointing.
At San Francisco International Airport, all the rental companies are in one area and connected by a tram, which is very convenient. They'll try to upsell you to a higher class vehicle (telling me there's a half-price upgrade promotion) and add insurance. Because of the language barrier, my contract included an extra insurance. I immediately questioned it, showed my QEEQ order, and told them 'zero, zero'. They said my insurance didn't cover emergency rescue, and I declined it. They later canceled it and told me 'don't worry'. Importantly, you don't need to print out the pickup form; just tell them the pickup confirmation number. I hope QEEQ's customer service advises customers not to worry about printing.
The Chinese language service is nice and very helpful. Changing the drop-off location was also smooth, but there was a charge that wasn't clearly explained over the phone. To expedite the process, I agreed to the charge. One uncomfortable point: I booked a Jeep, but at the counter, they said only Hyundai was available and recommended an upgrade. When picking up the car, they gave me a GMC...
