CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON DOLLAR IN LOS ANGELES

The car had 20,000 miles on it, and its performance and appearance were great, but the interior was a bit dirty. Probably because labor is expensive in the US and no one cleans it. At LA Airport, you have to take a shuttle bus to the rental center, which took 20 minutes to arrive, and then you have to wait in line for an hour. The good thing is after completing the paperwork, there's a long row of various brands of the same type of car for you to choose from, which is super cool!

When picking up the car, the rental agent insisted we buy extra insurance. After a long back-and-forth, he finally conceded. Then he said we must purchase the full-tank option. Thinking I had to drive around Los Angeles and it was already late, I reluctantly agreed and left quickly. The car was fairly new, having run 40,000 kilometers.

There are not enough shuttle buses, waited quite a while, and the queuing time for the process is long. More staff should be arranged for reception.

Waited over an hour and a half when renting from Dollar, very slow. The staff strongly recommended purchasing additional insurance. No one assisted when picking up the car, and the vehicle condition was average. However, the drop-off process was very quick, done in a few minutes.

The vehicle was satisfactory, but the wait to pick up the car was too long (we waited for 2.5 hours). The agent sold us roadside assistance insurance ($127) and required us to purchase the first tank of gas ($80) with an empty tank return policy. It's hard to return the car with an empty tank, so they make a profit on the gas.

Dollar has many locations, making car rental and return very convenient, with a wide selection of vehicles. However, there is often a long wait to complete rental formalities, typically around an hour. If you have a tight schedule, be sure to allocate enough time for car pickup. It's essential to print out your reservation confirmation from the Zuzuche website and bring it with you. The first time we rented, we had pre-booked and printed out the confirmation, making the rental process smooth, and we were only charged for the pre-booked full tank gas. The second time, we booked during our trip and couldn't print the reservation. We were forced to pay for 'Road Safety Assistance,' which was more expensive than the rental fee.

The car was in excellent and new condition, and the complimentary tank of fuel seemed to last longer than the fuel we refueled later. The trip through the frozen Yellowstone National Park went smoothly since the customer service at Daole indicated that they have all-weather tires, so we didn’t use snow chains. Driving on regular roads was no problem.

We waited for almost half an hour for the Dollar shuttle bus at Los Angeles airport. During that time, we saw several buses from Hertz and other companies. Once we arrived at the Dollar office, we had to stand in line for another half hour. A staff member tried to convince us to spend more money to upgrade to a bigger car, which wasted a lot of our time. In the end, we didn't upgrade, and it was the right decision. The car we got was excellent and had only driven a few thousand miles. From the time we landed to picking up the car, it took over an hour, which was quite a delay! However, the return process was incredibly fast. A staff member checked the fuel gauge and mileage, printed a receipt with no additional charges, and we were good to go. It was unbelievably fast!

Dollar company is really bad, there is no phone at their pickup location at LAX. Because the original car model was not available, they promised a free upgrade but ended up charging an extra $15 per day. Thankfully, we were able to negotiate a refund because we returned the car at the same location. It felt highly deceptive.
