CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON BUDGET IN ROME

Avis's company. They messed up with insurance and scared me off. The rental was 800 yuan, but the insurance they sold was 260 euros. The front desk service was extremely impatient and discriminated against Chinese people. I returned the car 10 days ago and still haven't received the deposit back, whereas Hertz returned it on the third day after I returned the car.

The counter staff engaged in fraudulent sales. They tricked me into upgrading a 1500 car to 5000.

They provided a detailed explanation of car usage and return instructions, and also promoted their own insurance.

They made various excuses to force us into buying insurance and changing the car. Eventually, we got a similar car, and the cost increased from over 3000 to more than 10000. There are many scammers in Italy.

1. Inaccurate pricing: They said additional insurance is €25, but it's actually €35. 2. Disorganized vehicle arrangement: I carefully selected a small car, a Yaris, with 5 seats and enough trunk space for luggage before ordering. When I arrived at the store, they first gave me a manual two-door A3, and then switched to a 4-seater Smart, which couldn't fit my luggage. Terrible.

The desk clerk explained me that they'll give me an upgrade for the same price + the fuel and in the end I ended up paying 250E for the upgrade. Disappointing experience, I'll steer clear of Budget in the future and I'll think twice before accepting any such "free" upgrades :-(

First thiong I was asked, if I want upgrade, which I answered of course. I already prepaid everything for the car and then I found out that the amount for the upgrade was triple extra then I already payed. I refused everything and told the lady that I don’t want any upgrades just give me the car I booked. She got mad and said ok, I’ll give you the upgrade for the same amount. Everything in Italian on the invoice. When i came back to drop off, I found out that the same amount actually have to pay extra. And only way how can i Fight for my money is to issue customer complaint through web page. If I won’t resolve this issue, never ever again renting a car on Budget or Avis.

Terrible. They upsold me someting I had NO idea I was even purchasing because I had already paid with easyrentcars. They did not tell me I was BUYING ADDTIONAL coverage. The amount was the exact same as what I paid through easyrentcars.com so when I got double charged. I was SHOCked to hear I was given optional insurance. They did NOT tell me this.

Very good, the waiting time in line wasn't long, and the staff were quite friendly.

They added charges without my consent.

No point in providing a phone number if nobody answers

I booked an automatic car, but when I picked it up, they said they didn't have automatic cars available, only manual ones. They were very indifferent about it. The type of car you're given is determined by the number of people in your group and your luggage, it has nothing to do with what you reserved in advance. They kept pushing insurance, saying it wouldn't be safe without it, making me doubt the reliability of the insurance bought through the rental website.

Car advertised (Mercedes) was not want we got (Ford). Counter staff use scare tactics to try and sell you extras such as roadside assistance, extra insurance, fuel package, etc. Collection of car took 1 hour including waiting time.

Arrived late, forcibly upgraded, charged an extra 500 euros

Pick up terrible. Waited nearly 2 hours. Then staff trying to give you another car type pretending the one you’ve booked will take a while to be ready! I insisted and get the right one.
