There was only one KIA available. They promised to exchange it as soon as a car was returned, but they didn't. The most frustrating part is the credit card deposit refund. They claimed it was settled when I returned the car, but now I've been charged over 200 yuan! Where's the proof?
Eerie car don’t respect the conditions I have tu pay more Mony for insurance and the rent was the more expensive rent I paid in hole my life, very very bad!!! Experience
“Trying to have you pay insurance coverage twice - Rest was OK.”
About Europcar:6.3/10
Initially wanted to charge a "safety deposit" of 12,000 USD on our American Express Platinum card. No kidding. Then want to charge us $140 extra for LIA coverage. Lists displayed publicly were showing a different price (lol). Agent told us listings were outdated just to have us pay more. We found the listings were perfectly valid, so he made up another excuse (lol). After showing detailed coverage included with the card and losing almost one hour, agent "mysteriously" discovered an insurance package for half the price (he entered manually a 60% discount... which means he knew exactly what he was doing). Borderline scammy. Drop off went super well with a nice lady but pickup left a bitter taste.
We rented a car in Guanajuato. We mentioned that we were going to Mexico City, which has driving restrictions. The staff promptly helped us apply for a 'city entry permit,' and our journey was smooth without any issues. The staff member also advised us not to give money if the police asked for it, suggesting we call them instead to handle the situation. Returning the car was quick, and although we didn't wash it, it wasn't really dirty. After returning the car, they even gave us a ride to our terminal.
We experienced very good service and the car was in excellent condition. However, we were surprised to learn that since we didn't purchase insurance in Mexico (our US insurance covered international) we had to put a deposit of $8,000 down on our credit card in case we didn't return the car. Luckily we had a high enough credit limit to do this and they never actually charged our card.
Our flight, was canceled so we arrive early. We attempted to pick up the car during normal operating hours but nobody was there. It took over four hours to pick up the car which was one hour past our original pick up time. We had to drive one hour through traffic to a different location to pick up the car. We schedule drop off and followed up with you a call, but there was still nobody at the desk during the time of drop off. It was a horrible experience all the way around.
“Initially planned to rent a car to visit clients, but didn't get the car, ended in disappointment.”
About Europcar:2.0/10
Only one person was at the counter, and we waited nearly 40 minutes to be attended to, only to be told that the car we reserved wasn't available and would only be back the next day. We agreed to change to another car and even accepted the $1500 deposit in USD, but the POS system didn't work, forcing us to cancel the rental and use a taxi instead. We called the rental company, incurring international call fees, to cancel the booking but were told it couldn't be cancelled immediately as it was past the pick-up time. The process would take 1-2 days. On June 16th, we were told by the rental company that they needed more time to coordinate with the car rental company! Left with no other choice, we had to wait patiently for the company to resolve the issue and hope not to be disappointed again!
“Voiture bien entretenue, pas eu de problèmes sauf panne informatique de l'agence lors du retrait”
About Europcar:8.0/10
Voiture correcte, gros problèmes informatiques à notre arrivée, mauvaise gestion des clients. Pas une bouteille d'eau. On a perdu beaucoup beaucoup beaucoup beaucoup de temps alors que nous étions très fatigués de notre vol.
Very bad experience overall. The car rate was $20 a day. They wanted to charge me $110 a day for insurance. I have to get a car somewhere else. Terrible company.
