Terrible company, the pre-authorization has not been refunded, and the claim has not been resolved. Everyone should read the hidden terms carefully, they force you to buy a tank of fuel and add a service fee. Never seen such a bad company.

Preference for Europeans over others

The car rental company wint to great lengths to upgrade and to charge us extra for everything. We spent in excess of 2 hours waiting for the car and then another hour trying to find the pickup location. The cost of the rental was very cheap but the car rental company never expected to let us rent the auto at that price.

Beware of hidden fees! While the entire rental was very good, the car was brand new, and the staff very friendly. I would not recommend renting from Record because of the hidden fees. We were charged €102 advance for fuel which we were told would be refunded if we returned the car full. We were refunded only partial as there is a €31.88 for Fuel and Service fee even though the car was returned filled with fuel.

Dislike: Full insurance bought online when booking wasn’t enough, I had to buy additionnal coverage from record in order to be safe and it doubled the rental price and the car was still with handle opening windows in the back seat and no antenna for the radio

Firstly, I recommend buying full insurance, which was 64 euros for 2 days; I bought it. The biggest issue with this rental company is that they require a full tank service with two additional charges: a 24-euro service fee that is non-refundable and a 65-euro fuel fee that is refunded based on usage. Very disappointing.

Although I could not fault the car itself, I was extremely disappointed with the hidden costs, namely over-priced fuel and a whopping €1100 deposit, with a 30 day wait for a refund. Oh, and an attempt to upsell over-priced car insurance.

The very worst of experiences. Anything negative that you could possibly think about rental car companies, Record has in spades.
