CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON HERTZ IN PARIS

Normal wear on the wheel rim was labeled as scratches, resulting in an unjustified charge of 110 euros! Is there any business ethics left? Does this wear really worth this amount? How is that possible! Being unfamiliar with the place, I could only watch helplessly as I got ripped off.

Hertz Arc de Triomphe in Paris, I didn't find them efficient.

There was hardly any line, probably because it's the off-season. There were very few people.

They changed our car model but didn't guide us to inspect the car. They just handed us the keys and told us to pick it up in the parking lot. Upon return, they pointed out an old, minor scratch and claimed it needed to be fixed. Also, they charged a 99 Euro pre-authorization for a full tank, but the car was marked as 4/8 full at pick-up and returned with 4/8, yet still charged the 99 Euros. This Hertz service was really poor.

Thrifty is a subsidiary of Hertz and the vehicles are in very good condition, having only 4700+ kilometers driven. However, even though the return time on Saturday at 7:00 pm was during regular business hours, we arrived half an hour early, but the staff had already left. No worries, the self-service return process worked out.

The arranged time was not punctual, the booked car model was not available, and the last-minute adjustments caused delays.

Firstly, the rental car counter at Paris airport is unbelievably slow; we waited a full hour and a half before it was our turn. Secondly, the counter staff didn't care about the car you reserved; they just kept pushing you to rent more expensive cars. We ended up with a car costing 1300 RMB per day. Finally, when we returned home, we were greeted with traffic fines totaling 3000 RMB, very frustrating!

They provided us with a car that had many issues, and the explanation was not thorough

The international brand was okay, but the process was too slow. I had to wait a long time.

I arrived at the store at 11 AM and was told I could only pick up the car at 12 PM. However, there was no car for me at 12 PM, and they asked me to go to another store to get it. When I got to the other store, it was closed for Easter. I now believe Hertz is the worst car rental company I've chosen.

We chose Hertz because we used it in the USA and had good experiences. This time, we booked a Renault. Initially, the staff said that since we didn’t provide our flight number, the car was still in the garage and suggested we take another car from the lot for an additional fee. We decided to wait for our booked Renault, which we had already fully paid for. The wait was not long, and the car was nearly new, diesel-powered, with good performance. Returning the car at the airport was very convenient with no delays. Highly recommended.

The rules are too rigid. They specified a 10:30 AM pickup and didn't allow early pickups. The line was too slow. They insisted on buying insurance, and they were very unhappy if we didn't.

The car had only half a tank of gas when we picked it up, and we returned it with half a tank. It's unclear how they calculate the fuel charges.

During return, the staff mentioned that the interior was not clean and there was sand. They asked for a 15 Euro cleaning fee or instructed us to go to a gas station to clean it before returning. There was no prior notice about this before renting, which felt quite unfair. Especially if you're rushing for a flight, you definitely can’t avoid the cleaning fee. Poor experience with this aspect of returning the car.
