The French pickup / return area at Geneva is very poorly signed and the directions given were really inadequate. On return, no staff were at the drop-off point and vans were blocking the few free spaces. Staff at the desk declined to give any receipt for the return of the car.

Your website said cars were insured for use in Switzerland but failed to mentained wntertyres are mandated. We needed to upgrade the car to get the tyres at a cost of €210. Very unhappy and the Europcar girl was hopeless at dealing with the issue denying any association with the problem as the booking was not made directly. She then failed to give us the map for the return of the car. In Geneva finding the French side is very tricky and it took us over an hour of curcling the airport to find the place. In the end we picked up the map from the Swiss side and managed to return the car. Overall in an industry of continual gotchas this one was well up there.

1. it is really difficult to find the way to drop of the car. They give you a picture with the way you have to follow in order to deliver the car but on that road there is not any petrol station to fill the car and is like a labirinth. 2. On the paper which you received when you take the car sais that if you want to drive on the highway you have to pay . There is not clear of how much money you have to pay and the sign of the car for the swiss highways there is not sticked on any car of Europcar . That means that company does not stick the stickers in order to pay 40 euros just to drive on swiss highways. When i ask them about the sticker they told me is mine. The sticker is not mine it is has to be stuck on the car. 3. They told me that i will be charged with petrol because i coouldnt find a petrol station on the map they told me to follow and till now i have no idea about the cost.

Will never use Europcar again! And will never hire from the French side of Geneva airport again - both are too much stress and hassle! No winter tyres available on a car that will spend 90% of its time driving up the alps? Then told because I didn’t have winter tyres I need to up the insurance to cover - double the rental. Then told car I ordered not available and to get a car we could fit our luggage in I needed to pay an upgrade, not happy! Then access to French side of Geneva airport is unmarked and very difficult to find - even with Satnav. Whole rental was a very stressful experience for 80 miles driven to resort and back, next time we will use a transfer service!

At the desk I was informed that driving the car I got in Switzerland was not allowed since it had only summer tires. Driving this car in Switzerland could result in fines and liability. But “you can pay extra for another car” staff then told me. I felt tricked and forced to pay extra.

Europcar gave me a car with summer tyres, in Geneva, in winter, when I had reserved snow chains! They then tried to charge me double the rental cost for a car with winter tyres. They then charged me €240 because I left the car at the wrong Europcar drop off point in Geneva airport (3.6 miles away from the 'correct' Europcar drop off point). Absolute rip off company - avoid at all costs.

Because Geneva is on the border of Switzerland and France there are two drop off locations, which are not very clear at the airport. We eventually found one but it was on the Swiss side and were told that they would charge use CHF 300 to transfer it to the French side. On arrival into Geneva airport, we had chosen to book the car from France side rather than Swiss. This was an easy walk through the airport and a quick check of your boarding pass from the flight. On arrival into the car hire collection desks, it was easy to find Euopcar with their distinct branding. despite it being late at night and we were one of the last flights coming in. The attend could not have been more pleasant and helpful. A real change from when we hired a car earlier in the year through a different provider! The gentleman on the desk made things really smooth and easy to collect the car. He provided us with local instructions, how best to drive to our overnight accommodation and the best way back out onto the motorway in the morning to start our drive to final holiday destination. Would highly recommend Europcar.

rental counter was soso, the salesperson do not really explain the detail how to check the car or explain that customer must check within 2hrs if there any damage of the car..all in French and counter should explain to the customer but instead trying to sell customer many things.. however, the best staff at the pick up area is Mr. Nabil..he is very good, explain how to use the EV car as this is the first time i use EV car..he spent at least half hour explain how to use. This is customer service..Mr. Nabil should be manage the entire Europa at this division and should at least get bonus and get a good raise for his good attitude and services. Very professional..unlike the staff from the counter which is very poor service.
