About FOX RENT A CAR:8.7/10
The push for additional insurance and signing blindly on an electronic keypad multiple times was worrisome. Charging of a deposit to my credit card and then refunding later seemed odd and also caused some worry as to whether it would be a hassle to get my deposit back. The deposit has been refunded, so all is well. The car had some stains on the interior that we didn't notice since one of the rear seats was flipped down when picked up. We successfully cleaned the spots once we arrived at our hotel (seemed like gum and maybe white powder or deodorant), so we wouldn't have to worry about getting charged for stains that weren't ours. We liked the vehicle and getting to pick from a row of cars: we chose the Mitsubishi Outlander mostly due to its small size, light exterior color (silver), low mileage on odometer, and good MPG.
I had a really bad experience with them. First of all, they did not accept my personal insurance because I’m from Canada. It’s the very first time this ever happened to me. Also, a few days after the drop off, my credit card got charged an extra $93. I have absolutely no idea why, I’ve been trying to contact them, I left at least a dozen voicemails...nothing. I will definitely contact my credit card company to dispute this charge. I do not recommend this company at all.
I had booked a B-class car, but when I arrived at the store, they only had A-class cars like Corolla and Sylphy available. They couldn't upgrade the car or refund the price difference. The car was relatively new. The service was impatient when asked a few more questions. However, the deposit was refunded quickly when returning the car.
Great car, better than I asked. It was quite dirty (car wash broken apparently), I gave back even dirtier. Great service, The got some dollars without explanation at the end of the process, fine by me as it wasn't much.
First of all I would like to express how unsatisfied I am with your service, your company and how unprofessional your manager is.
I would also like to tell you that the vehicle was delivered to me at 01:30pm when you they supposed to deliver it to me at 9:00 am. When giving me the vehicle I complained about all the visible damages that the vehicle had and even the broken windshield glass (which is a very important safety issue) anyways I took a picture of all the damages And even told the manager, he told me to take pictures and nothing else. The day I returned the car the manager told me that the car had a scratch on the side bumper, I told him it wasn't me and he insisted it was me. Then he had me sign a paper that I had done the bumper little scratch on the left side, (of which he did not give me a copy) and then I returned to take a picture of the car and when I passed my hand it was simply dirty and
and I showed it to him and he still insisted that I had to claim my insurance.
Now my question is: do you work to get money from insurance? because if the insurance paid them money to repair the vehicles you would not have given me this car with the broken glass, scratches and dents. Also they sent me an e-mail saying that also the door was knocked and that never happened and is not even in the report that the employee have. So why are you blaming me for something that I didn't do? I would appreciate your clarifying all this information because in my opinion there is nothing to claim from you.
I don’t have any problem to file the claim with my insurance if it was something that I have done. But you guys seems like your are adding damages and also are exaggerating a scratch that is fixed with simple polishing.
The other question is, is the car parked because of that little dirty? How you did not stop it because of all the scratches, dents it had and even the broken glass before you guys rented to me?
The pick up shuttle never showed up. We finally took another shuttle to get to the car rental area. After we got there, they were telling us that the car insurance that we had bought through Easycarrentsl.com was not good and we should buy their insurance. After a. Loy of haste, we conveniences them that between our insurance, credit card and $10/day insurance that we had bought through the rental website we thought we were covered and we didn’t need to buy a fourth insurance for the car. Extremely disappointing experience. Won’t recommend them at all. And they should be investigated for trying to defraud the customers.

“Easyrentcars.com = Fantastic. Thrifty insurance sales and staff training policy = Horrendous.”
About Thrifty:8.7/10
Thrifty need to pull back on pushing ridiculous insurance cover policies. It took a lot of repeated questioning to get them to move from an $80/day fee down to a more reasonable liability cover. It was clear they were trying to pull the wool over my eyes and stress me into an expensive policy. That's not cool.
When picking up the car, they didn't mention whether we should buy a full tank of gas. They charged us over $350, claiming it was a pre-authorization without explaining that it included fuel. The deposit should have only been $200. They never provided a detailed bill and just asked for an electronic signature. This is clearly fraudulent behavior.
