This approach felt more like fearmongering than a genuine effort to assist customers in making informed decisions. Secondly, I was offered a Fuel Purchase Option at an upfront cost of $67, under the claim that it would relieve me of the need to return the car with a full tank of fuel. However, based on average fuel consumption for a typical trip in Hawaii, the estimated cost of fuel would likely be under $50—even if the car was used daily. This option, therefore, seemed overpriced and unnecessary. The sales tactic included exaggerating the inconvenience of refueling in Hawaii, including claims that fuel stations were difficult to access or that foreigners might face additional fees due to credit card charges. The most peculiar assertion was that entering a ZIP code at fuel stations posed a significant obstacle, which seemed far-fetched and misleading. These aggressive upselling techniques undermined my trust in the service and detracted from an otherwise straightforward rental process. I would encourage a more transparent and customer-focused approach, emphasizing informed choice over pressure tactics.

As always, the process was seamless, with an easy-to-navigate system and excellent communication. I especially appreciated the WhatsApp messages providing timely reminders about my car rental and helpful tips on navigating the area, including recommendations on places to visit. We were unable to collect the car on our scheduled day/time because our plane was delayed by 4 hours and the counter staff had finished for the day. Fortunately we were staying 20 minutes away so returned the following day. From there everything went smoothly.
