The service reservation phone number was unreachable; I don't understand why there was an error in the contract that restricted our self-drive to Germany only; Zuzuche should clearly state the precautions (e.g., payment methods and actual procedures are different, return signs...).
The car rental location at Munich Airport was easy to find, and the staff were professional. There was no upselling, and I even got a free upgrade on the car model, which left a good impression.
The drop-off location near Munich Central Station was less impressive, mainly because there was no staff present during business hours. The office was locked, so I had to use the self-service option, which delayed me for nearly an hour while communicating with QEEQ customer service to find a parking spot.
The pickup point was quite far. When we got the car, we noticed several scratches and had to go up and down several times to find a staff member to report it. It was exhausting.
Returning the car was easy to find. However, if it's your first time renting a car in Germany, it's important to familiarize yourself with the area on the map first. The trick is: once you see the sign of one car rental company, the others will be nearby as they tend to cluster together.
Very poor service. They gave me a Renault, which was not stable at all. Also, the final price was much higher than what was shown on the rental site. After repeatedly verifying the charges and showing my booking's quoted price, the staff reluctantly removed the extra charges. Terrible experience.
The staff was nice, but the waiting time was just too long. We had to wait for a very long time. In Germany, it’s mostly self-service. They give you a key once everything is done, and then you walk to the parking lot to get the car. The Munich parking lot was the multi-story type, and after coming down, we lost the GPS signal in the congested streets. No... signal... at all, so we drove randomly for a while before the navigation started working. But the car was very clean. We returned it at Frankfurt airport; you just hand over the car, and it's done. Super convenient. Renting a car in Germany is awesome.
Excellent! The receptionist saw the QEEQ order and there were no additional sales pitches. They simply handed over the car keys for self-service pickup. Returning the car was also straightforward; they just checked the mileage and fuel gauge.
Picked up the car at Cologne train station, few people, completed the procedure within minutes. Returned the car in downtown Munich, fast process. Returned the car a few hours later than scheduled but called the return point in advance, and they charged an extra day.
Avis at Frankfurt Airport is too bad! They really disappointed me. They destroyed my trust by charging me double insurance without any consultation, didn't explain anything, and didn't show me the contract. They just asked for my credit card and charged me 1500 Euros. Afterwards, despite many calls, they refused to correct it. Even Avis Landau called and emailed them, but Avis at the airport was still unwilling to correct their mistakes and didn't return the extra money to me. I had to drive 200 km to the airport Avis to cancel the old order, but even then, their bad service was evident again. They asked me to wait and didn't return the extra money, which really disappointed me. AVIS was very disappointing. They damaged the trust customers had in them. I had already informed them that I had bought full insurance in China through QEEQ, but they still charged me for another full insurance and refused to refund. They charged my credit card 1500 Euros. Resolving this issue took me several days and a lot of energy. Over the phone, they were indifferent and unwilling to solve the problem. In the end, I had to drive to the site to resolve it, which severely affected my overall good mood throughout the trip!
It was already very late when picking up the car, so we didn't inspect it carefully. I’ve always had good car conditions when renting in Germany before, never had issues. But after driving for a day, I found two severe cuts on the right front tire, likely from the previous driver hitting a curb. Obviously, the car condition wasn't checked at all before renting it out!
