Their attitude towards non-English speakers is very poor! When I asked for a Chinese-speaking agent, they didn't even answer the phone. The customer service at ZUZUCHE is great—very patient and responsible. They misled me into buying $280 insurance and had no Chinese service. I heard someone ask a colleague if they spoke Chinese, and they said yes, but they ignored me! They look down on Chinese people! Returning the car was very convenient.
Limited car models. Originally booked a Grand Cherokee, but there was none available upon arrival. Had to upgrade the car and spent over 1000 extra. Staff service was excellent, quick car exchange was quite convenient. Everything was great except for the forced upgrade.
It felt like the agents in Los Angeles were particularly aggressive in upselling insurance to improve their performance. Regardless of your understanding, they would pitch it to you. There was even one instance at the Los Angeles airport branch where an agent falsely claimed that insurance was legally required when we specifically asked about it. However, when we returned the car and spoke to the manager, they resolved the issue efficiently, and we were refunded the full amount including taxes on the spot.
I returned the car one hour later than the time on my order, and the rental company charged me 532 yuan and an additional two days of rent. Earlier, I called the car rental customer service to ask for a delayed return, and they told me to contact the store. I rented the car from you, what are you doing? Nobody answered the phone at the store, which was very inconvenient. It was really terrible.
It's been a long time, and I can still give a good review, so let's briefly say this: the rental company enforced an upgrade on the car model. The car we originally wanted was available, but they said it wasn't. We don't know why. They pushed various insurances on us. We were tired and had no choice but to accept the upgraded model.
Terrible service, unreasonable demands. The two elderly Middle Eastern men had trouble even using a computer and couldn't process a card payment—so frustrating.
