Like: Hertz gave me a better car than anticipated, fast and easy check-in so that getting the car took less than 10 minutes. Returning the car was incredibly fast because the Hertz Man was standing ready to receive my car in the driveway and within a minute checked-in my car and gave me my receipt. Like: Sightseeing was great.... Loved Canada's Wonderland.... My kids enjoyed The African Safari as well as Niagara Falls....
Dislike: Only had one bad experience.... I went to the Rainforest Cafe in Niagara Toronto. The meal tasted great, then upon leaving I left my bag with some goodies on my table... I returned after 5 mins to find my bag gone and no one knew where it was... The people who cleaned our table did not see the bag and they were literally cleaned as soon as we left... I left my number with the manager but no one ever called to say if they ever found the bag.....

Also I was unable to reach the Hertz local branch by calling their local line of the Toronto Airport. Hertz is located at the very end of the car rental building, which requires quite a bit of walking. Since I arrived late, there were hardly any people in line at the regular counters. Therefore, there wasn't much difference in service between the regular counters and the Hertz Gold kiosk.

The staff were friendly, but the condition of the car was below expectations. First, they hadn’t prepared the vehicle in advance, so we waited almost 40 minutes to pick it up. The car wasn’t very clean either, with some stains on the seats. We had to clean them ourselves with disinfectant wipes. The battery was only at 50%, so we had to find a charging station as soon as we left the city.

Overall okay, except the front desk tried to persuade us to buy a full tank option when a full-to-full option was clearly more convenient. Also, despite having purchased the super collision damage waiver, they still tried to sell us additional insurance, which I firmly refused. They even attempted to give us a Mazda CX-3, which was clearly a downgrade, but we rejected that as well. So everyone be cautious.
