Long wait. staff was inefficient and not welcoming. They almost forced us to purchase the full tank option. The bus ride was too long and dropped us at wrong terminal!
The car was ok.
Super excellent service from State Van Rental. My parents and siblings are in town for a week and need a 8 seat car. Came in to the rental at 8 and out by 8.30 ish, car is very clean and service was very nice. So much better than other car rental! Can’t wait to rent a car in state van rental next time! Clean & tidy! Super fast service
Upon arriving at FOX to pick up our $205 booked rental, we were assured an 'economy category' 4 door vehicle would not have enough room for 2 adults, 2 children, 2 suitcases and a backpack; we would have to upgrade to a 'full size category' vehicle. We were also notified they do not accept third party auto insurance, so purchasing rental insurance through them was mandatory. And on top of that, there was an added $150 deposit.
So, we went in planning on spending the quoted booking price (a little over $200), and ended up with a $558+ bill, IF $150 deposit actually gets refunded.
As my husband was signing papers, I did another search on easyrentcars.com, this time for a full sized car, plus added insurance, with everything else the same, the price should still only have been $275.
I fully believe FOX is adding random charges and fees, and extra tax to Jack up their pricing.
They took advantage of my tiredness and talked me into extra insurance even though I told them that I already have one. They said that it is something different. So their cheap offer became quite expensive.
The customer service was terrible. It took an hour to drop the car off at 10:30 pm. There was only three people ahead of us with two people working behind the counter. There was no simple key drop off. When I got home I realized that I left my kindle fire in the glove box. The next morning I called at 6:30 am when the internet said the rental agency opened. I thought that I could catch them before the car was rented again. No one answered. I called over a dozen times that day and no one ever answered. I stopped by the office twice. The first time they said only one person had a key to lost and found and the manager would be back Monday. I registered the item on the hertz website as directed. They said to come back at 5 pm when there next manager gets there and they might be able to help. When I returned, I waited for an HOUR AND A HALF. I explained the issue to the person at the desk. He said to please sit down and they would check. I waited patiently for 30 min while four guys stood at the desk and appeared to chat. I went up to ask if anyone was looking. They said that they had got busy and hadn’t had a chance. I waited another thirty minutes in a chair RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DESK. I finally got in line to ask what was going on. After waiting another 30 min in the entire line AGAIN, I had to explain AGAIN why I was there. They said that no one could help me until the ONE MANAGER with the key returned on Tuesday (I was previously told Monday). So why did I wait ONE AND A HALF HOURS!?!?!? I want to speak to a manager, but I cannot get anyone on the phone. Right now I can only assume that someone stole my kindle and are so reluctant to help me.
The service was okay. They recommended insurance, but it wasn't mandatory and they didn't push it. There was an incident with the car, and the customer service manager was quite helpful, but I haven't received the compensation yet, so I'm unsure of the final outcome.
The promised car model was not available at pickup. Only small Hyundai models were available, which was disappointing and seemed suspicious. It's rare for none of the five promised models to be available.
Horrible. The counter staff gave me a lot of trouble.
Two people chose to get the process over with over the phone. They arrived after me 15 mins after me and were done within 5 mins. My counter staff read every word on my car insurance for 45 mins and forced me to call my insurance company and connect them with her. She was very rude and unapologetic.
Did not realize it was a third party. Car was not clean on inside and was not full of gas. Car was 16000 miles past oil change based on sticker and car had message about needing maintenance.
“the car I reserved was never there in the first place bt fortunately someone just dr”
About Alamo:8.0/10
the car I reserved was never there in the first place so I was quite frustrated because I was with my boy and pregnant at the sametime yet fortunately someone just dropped off very similar size vehicle of I reserved so I picked it up right away
was content while driving (the one I reserved was grand cherokee one I drove was Nissan Murano)
staff said there would be similar size vehicle out there in the first place but there was almost none until I pick up Murano
“ALAMO REFUSED TO RENT THE CAR AS LISTED ON THE AGREEMENT.”
About Alamo:3.3/10
Avoid ALAMO, only use If the price is rock bottom and you don't mind shabby service. My booking as indicated by Alamo, clearly showed 'Ford Expedition' or Similar.
Went to collect one of the many Expeditions in the lot, and was told I would need to pay extra to upgrade to the Expedition, despite it being on their paperwork already...
About QEEQ:8.0/10
This is a good firm to use, I will look at other rental firms through this broker :)
Walking 50 meters to the right from the terminal, there was the car rental company. I waited less than 5 minutes at the pickup point before seeing the company's shuttle bus. The driver was very enthusiastic, standing on the bus, helping us load our luggage onto the racks. We quickly arrived at the car rental office, presented our reservation, the staff checked it on the computer, and asked if we needed an upgrade or additional insurance. Since we bought the most comprehensive insurance on QEEQ, we declined, and the staff didn't push us to buy anything else. The process was quick; they directed us to the backyard to pick up the car. The staff pointed to the model we rented, saying all keys were in the cars, which were all clean. We could choose any; once chosen, we drove to the exit, showed our driver's license to the staff, they checked it and let us go. Everything went smoothly, and the service was very friendly.
