Car category I booked was not even available at the location. Told by counter staff go and complain to ACE. Given a completely unsatisfactory vehicle instead.
The whole experience was the worst thing ever. The bus in the airport dropped me off at a parking lot then from there I got into a shuttle bus to get to the car rental place. I was then checked in by a rep via an iPad which made me feel uncomfortable. I had to tell him all my info again and show him my credit card. I was told I had to buy additional insurance which added $100 to my total sum. if I had known this before hand I would not have booked. I then was sent to another rep to sign my contract agreement. After that I saw another rep to process my payment, but why did the virtual rep want my credit card info when we initiated and the exp date?! I felt like I was juggled around too much, the whole experience was very impersonal. I felt I did not get the value for my money. I wold never use or recommend this company again. I feel I should get a portion of my money reimbursed.

The ACE is not the real agency, but Green Motion, this resulted in an internal problem that made me wait more than 3 hours to get the car. I would never again choose this agency because of this, which should even be said before booking.
The plus point was that the car we'd opted for wasn't available so we got a bigger one. Thankfully I know how to drive an Automatic (I'd booked a manual).
The list of minus points is, alas, much longer. The phone number on our Rental Confirmation was for a company called Green Motion (which wasn't a name I'd seen on the booking platform or on any of our documentation). The lift from the airport to the office was very prompt and the driver was pleasant but the office is in the back of a Motel/Hostel. I felt very uncomfortable back there. Then the insurance options were presented and the huge deposit required in order to forego the insurance cost. There was no option but to take the high daily insurance cost. The £50 deposit is still sitting as "pending" on my credit card despite being told that it'd be refunded on 9th June (i.e. when I handed back the car). The whole experience has made me feel swindled.
Customer service was ok. Vehicle was booked with "unlimited miles" but at the counter I was told that it was 275 miles daily and on the contract it was written 375 miles daily. The van was sent out with a "patched tire" that the TPMS light stayed on constantly. I had to put another patch on the tire as it was consistently leaking. I did this at my expense.
They didn’t appear to have our booking, the lady on the desk was very unhelpful, made it a complicated process & tried to give us a smaller car. Very pushy and condescending,

Booking was easy but then ACE didn’t appear to have our booking
It wasn't ACE but Goldcar. I felt like i was made to take out full insurance. There were dents around the car and the number plate looked like it has been badly damaged. It was not a pleasant experience. I will be using a proper hire car firm in future like Hertz.
Horrible service picking up the car. Talking with someone over skype. No agents at site could assist had to wait until someone was free in another city.
The bill was difficult to understand. Waited too long at the counter to get a vehicle - there were 3 people already at the counter -we were next and took 30+ minutes to get a car - everything was prebooked.

Two people chose to get the process over with over the phone. They arrived after me 15 mins after me and were done within 5 mins. My counter staff read every word on my car insurance for 45 mins and forced me to call my insurance company and connect them with her. She was very rude and unapologetic.
Fast and super friendly service. We were picked up at the airport with in minutes of calling and the drive was less than 5 minutes to the rental place. We were in our car and on the road in less than 15 minutes.
Goldcar were terrible at arrival! Over 2hrs waiting with 3 children on my own. Rude! Also tried to say the extra insurance with you wasn't enough and that you wouldn't pay out so we had to buy it with them also! Wouldn't use again!
The car was not clean thoroughly, I found M&M wrappers and other trash under the driver seat.
When we returned the car, the company was going to charge $50 cleaning fee. We have sands in the carpets, not a lot because we did try to clean it by taking the carpet off and shaking it.

Getting the car seemed to take forever and with 3 small hungry children it was a added stress.there was some some hidden charges and fined if you didn’t bring the car back with a full tank or committed an offence that weren’t stipulated before the hire.

maybe next time, hire people who arent racist...i came in fully prepared . rental confirmation. she said the price is not accurate, that easyrentcars dont know how to calculate...i also came in with full coverage insurance and a separate policy that will cover the car in full...everything was printed out...she read the policy page for page, while ALL the white people just handed their insurance card NO declaration page to read . they were treated and greeted with respect. i literally told her why she treated us different and she just smiled.....i am so disgusted ....when we got our car it wasn't cleaned...showed her the picture of taken from our phone and said ewww thats disgusting i woundnt take the car and OFFERED NO other car to us

I will never rent from then again , we were second in line and waited over an hour , people were behind us and someone left on break. The man that finally helped us was such a salesman and I had to argue with him to not get insurance for a half hour. He finally gave in and when I returned it I realized the city and my age and zip code were incorrect. He never made a copy of my insurance either . I felt like I was at a used car lot.
The car worked fine but was very heavily damaged (large dents and almost every panel was scratched or gouged) and only a 1.4 petrol so a bit under powered for a car the size I had requested.
