“The worst car hire experience of my life, terrible customer service and general chaos .”

We arrived on time to pick up our rental car only to be met by a sea of people waiting to collect their cars . Firstly, there were only 4 staff working and they each took around 20mîns if not more to serve each customer! No sense of trying to speed up to help with the ever growing queues! Once we had waited for 2 hours and 20 mins (!!!) we finally had our number called . We were then met by an incredibly slow, unapologetic and borderline agressive member of staff. When we asked for an explanation for the long wait and utter chaos, we were given no apology ( as the representative of ACE should have done in basic customer service ) and just an aggressive and rude attitude whilst we tried to collect our car.
In the many years of travel and use of car hire companies at Bordeaux Meringnac airport I have never been treated so incredibly badly nor had to wait so long with no apology or basic customer service. I will never use this company again and will be sure to pass the word on amoung my contact , friends , family and anyone else who I know is looking for car rental .

Le retrait de la voiture a été horriblement long (plus d’une heure à faire la queue et au guichet). Le tarif paye sur internet était le plus compétitif mais une fois l’option super assurance et pas besoin d’etat Des lieux de retrait et de retour le tarif est nettement moins compétitif du fait de l’attente.

j'ai loué la voiture chez ACE,comment savoir que Global car se substitue à ACE sauf par un petit panneau derrière le comptoir?Beaucoup d'attente au comptoir car le personnel tente de vous imposer une assurance à plus de 100€ malgré l'assurance souscrite lors de la réservation et devient très désagréable lorsqu'on lui oppose un refus:plus de 30' d'attente et une sérieuse prise de bec avec l'employé.
Aéroport de BOD en travaux,guichets de location mal indiqués...Heureusement le personnel pour la livraison et la restitution du véhicule était très sympathique et opérationnel malgré l'affluence.
Facility was dirty; counter staff was not friendly; added some charges (not outrageous, but unexpected). Overall was OK at best, but I hate getting overcharged last minute.
Waited over an hour, in a hot terminal, to pick up car. Staff said I needed extra insurance !! This was paid for up front, and they should have been made aware. Overall cost was £20 higher than original quote. On the plus side, car was upgraded to a new seat arona.
Waited over an hour to pick up the car. When we got to the desk there were 5 customer service people on duty but one by one they left leaving only one person to deal with the last three customers. They clearly don't care.
There was a very long wait to get the car. It wasn't the car I reserved. There were a lot of hidden fees. I had to pay a 250 deposit and 100 dollars for a toll package from ACE. I asked if I brought the car back earlier if I would get refunded they said no refunds. I wasn't the only person that was there that was unhappy. There were 4 others there that were unhappy. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ACE to an ENEMY. Worst rental car service ever.
The pick up was from Green Motion car and van rental. The name Ace Rent a Car never appeared anywhere and wasn't on the shuttle bus that collected me. It would have made pick up quicker and easier if there were clear instructions on where to meet the shuttle bus.

ACE was dire. The pick up took over an hour. After a flight with a 6 month baby and a 5 year old, this was far too long to wait to get to the desk to be served. English was poor, and it was a battle to convince them of the insurance I had already paid for with AXA via Easyrent. They even tried to con us out of 20 Euros for petrol to fill up saying the nearest petrol station was over 30km away from the airport. I had been to the airport several times and the petrol station that was 5km away has always sufficed.
It took 5 hours to rent the car and everything was as vague as can be.
The whole process is designed to sell Insurance and upgrades. A ridiculous process which created 60 people long queues.
I am sure that these rental agencies are either owned or financed by the main players like Hertz with the sole objective to drive people back to them and NEVER , EVER consider leaving again.
We have used several times. Due to this and our yearly car hire excess insurance, we no longer get the hard sell for own car rentals unnecessary insurance which we have found stressful with other companies. The car was very clean and in excellent condition.
