I book car whit full Insurance. (0 axcess), but Great Rentals ask me abou toll fees ($7.2) and labor cost and cleaning fess($160) are total $167.20. This cost they already taken from the holding fees.

Hard to find pick up location. Staff were rude. Charged $500 at pick up that is not outlined in T&Cs that gets returned after 20 days, they refused to take credit card, this is not a normal process when hiring cars. They made me check the car for damage in the rain. Tried charging me for a window crack no bigger than 1mm that was not caused by myself. Take a week to respond to emails. Would not recommend.

The car I got was exactly what I asked for and was really clean. The only downer is that the whole computer system was in Japanese and it could not be changed, there was also no USB port which is what I requested.

This is a scam shop, 1. 20 minutes late for pick-up. 2. Originally rented a Honda Accord but was given a beat-up Toyota RAV4, how can you tell an extra scratch from a car full of them? 3. Extra charges specifically targeting Chinese customers. When returning the car, a lady said everything was fine. Then a man came out, inspected the car thoroughly, claimed there was a defect on the door, but the comparison with previous photos showed otherwise. He also pointed out paint damage inside the door, claiming it was our fault. This spot is never checked during inspection. This shop is clearly targeting Chinese customers.

Great Rentals is totally run by chinese people, who in large only speak in chinese, our pick up driver had very little understanding of english and this made it very difficult when explaining we were on a tight schedule and needed to be taken to our car rental straight away, I had called the office the day before to explain that we had to be in the cbd for an appointment within an hour of arriving. The only language spoken in the office was chinese and maybe one or two staff had adequate english to deal with queries, so to sum up. Great price and car was as ordered, adequate pick up and drop off at airport but needs to be faster and drivers needs to speak english, office staff need to be better trained in customer service and only speak english when customer are present, this would be my reason for not booking again.

It’s great value of money, just the car is really old and with Internet cafe smell, I have to open my window all the time. feel like they need to give the seats a quick wash at least once a month or 2.

Horrible pick up experience. Rude staff. Tried to charge us our excess for insurance up front (claimed miscommunication). 7pm at night and the rude staff member tells us we need to go elsewhere. Another member of staff came to speak with us 10 mins later and finalised the pick up. Car radio didn't work. Wasn't in english so we couldn't use for our whole trip

Car was great but old and have damage. That was fine since this reflected the prices the car smelt badly of cigarettes and all the electronics inc gps are in Japanese which is completely useless in New Zealand. This was explained to me as they were Japanese imports. Overall a good service, I would use again. But be aware that they hold your deposit for 4 weeks after you return your car for possible fines, tickets, etc which I had never experienced before.

Excellent rental would recommend this company to anyone. Great car, lots of space, nice vehicle to drive, great on the roads.

They will charge you for normal wear and tear and scratches already present on the vehicle. They have a dodgy business model. Don't rent a car from this place.
