The line was long, and the staff at the counter were slow. The pickup location was far from the counter. It was raining that day, and we had to walk a long distance. They finally gave us a downgraded small car, which felt overpriced. We ended up being 40 minutes late for the meeting with the client. This car rental company is really unreliable.
I would avoid this company. It's an Italian local company that attracts people with low prices, and it is indeed cheaper than several other international companies. However, every time I rent a car, it's never the model I reserved. Last year, I reserved a Ford Focus, but got a Toyota instead. The trunk could only fit one 24-inch suitcase, so I had to put the other suitcase in the back seat. This year, I reserved an MPV, but ended up with a Peugeot SUV. We had three 24-inch suitcases and could only fit two of them. In the end, I had to pay nearly 400 euros extra to switch to a Skoda. What a rip-off! Also, because I didn't buy their insurance, they inspected the car very meticulously when I returned it. Thankfully, I was aware of their practices from last year.
The car rental company doesn't have any Lexus vehicles. On two occasions, I didn't get a Lexus as expected, and I didn't see any in the parking lot. If you are renting a Lexus because of more luggage, be cautious. This time, they gave us a basic Mercedes A-class, which worked out since we had fewer people and managed to fit our luggage. However, being a basic model, the interior was all cloth. Unfortunately, it was a rainy day, and cleaning the dirt would be very challenging. We were charged a hefty cleaning fee (179 euros), and the matter is still under dispute. Fortunately, we have the car rental platform's support, and we hope they can help retrieve the unreasonable charges.
Picked up the car at Milan Central Station. The process was fairly efficient, and they did try to sell me additional insurance. However, since I had already purchased full coverage, the staff didn't push it further. The car pick-up location was about a 5-minute walk from where the paperwork was done, but it was easy to find with the map they provided. I had booked a Toyota Yaris Hybrid and the pick-up went smoothly, but the engine fault warning appeared when I reached Venice. Had to switch the car at Venice Airport to a Ford SUV, and the staff were very apologetic and didn't charge any fees. Later, when we drove to Rome, the car indicated it needed an oil change. As we were two women and didn't know how to handle it, we tried two gas stations but couldn't get any engine oil. So, we drove to the Rome train station hoping the rental office would change the oil but they just gave us another car without any extra charges. Finally, we returned the car in Milan and the staff checked everything, saying it was all okay. We thought the rental experience ended smoothly. However, two days later, we received an email from the company claiming there was damage to the windshield and we were charged 1080 euros. Despite multiple emails, they still charged my credit card. Thankfully, with full insurance, we eventually got reimbursed through the rental platform. In summary, smaller rental companies can be unreliable, as I’ve never faced so many issues with international chains before. And always buy full insurance!
The flight was delayed by 2 hours, and when we arrived at the car rental company, we were told that the fully prepaid car had already been taken. In the end, we had to pay for an upgrade, which was quite frustrating.
Friends, be sure to avoid this company! Here's my personal experience. I have driven in Europe and the US before without any issues, but this was my first time renting a car in Italy. I took dozens of photos and videos of the car during pickup. When returning the car, the staff inspected it thoroughly and found a dent underneath the car, claiming it needed to be compensated. I couldn't find that angle in any of my photos or videos, and the undamaged photos they provided could not confirm the date. Needless to say, despite the negotiations, the outcome was predictable.
Fortunately, I had full insurance and did not suffer any financial loss. However, I can't help but wonder if this behavior is targeted at Chinese customers. It's disheartening, and my complaint emails to the company led nowhere. A few years ago, full insurance was not this expensive, but now it is almost as costly as the rental itself. Such practices contribute to the rising costs for both rental companies and users. In the end, it is us who pay the price. Based on my personal experience, I advise everyone to steer clear of such companies.
The service was average. They charged me over 100 euros for returning the car a few minutes late. The return staff said it was fine, but a few days later, the charge appeared.
The car was easy to drive and the pickup process was convenient. However, they informed me that the platform insurance is only for the platform and asked me to buy an additional insurance ranging from 150 to 600 euros.
“Got the car but had to pay significantly more to get it. Overall a poor experience.”
About NOLEGGIARE:8.0/10
Long wait time at Milano Centrale desk with only one staff member at a busy time. Had to leave and come back as didn't accept debit card or Amex credit card. Vehicle was no longer available by the time I returned and had to wait for several hours for another vehicle to return. Required €1,800 deposit for vehicle, which Qeeq didn't communicate clearly on booking emails. As I didn't have this amount available on my card I was forced to buy extra insurance from Noleggiare that I didn't need, amounting to almost €400 over the booking period. During booking, had to ring the Milano Centrale office 15 times to confirm I could drop the vehicle back later than the booking time. Drop off location was correct on the Noleggiare invoice, but incorrect on the Qeeq email and voucher. All in all a subpar experience and unlikely I would book again with Noleggiare, and would expect Qeeq to improve their communication on deposits required significantly.

Very satisfied! The refund after returning the car was very quick. Remember to take a thorough video of the whole car when picking it up. The deposit was also returned swiftly!
