They kept saying they couldn't process my old-fashioned credit card and forced us to buy their additional insurance, costing an extra 81 euros. What's the point of buying insurance from the rental platform then?
The first lady who gave us the car was not very friendly, with a stern face and a heavy accent in her English. Later, because there were scratches on the back of the car, we went back and met another lady who spoke fluent English and smiled.
1. There was only one staff member at the store, and the pick-up location was a 5-minute walk from the airport.
2. Another car was blocking ours at the pick-up spot, making it impossible to collect our vehicle.
3. Despite calling multiple times, we couldn't reach the staff (this was around 11 PM).
4. We had to walk back to the airport to contact the staff. The only staff member prioritized other customers’ pick-up orders despite our issue. Eventually, they resolved the issue by changing the car, but it took a long time.
After returning the car, an unexplained charge of 830 euros appeared. It's been more than 20 days and there's still no explanation via phone or email. Their contact number is also difficult to reach. I recommend considering this rental company carefully.
Long waiting time in line, they changed the car model without permission, giving me a 1.6 Jeep Renegade (which starts at 110,000 RMB in China). I had reserved a BMW X1, but they claimed both cars are in the same category. The 1.6-liter engine's acceleration was terrible, and the driving experience was very poor. Complaints were useless; they said if I wanted to change the car, I had to pay more, and they kept pushing insurance. This rental company is very small, has few vehicles, and the car we got wasn't even German-plated; it had Slovakian plates. Be cautious when choosing a rental company. Don't do what I did, choosing a cheap option and regretting it later. Beware of foreign scams.
The attitude was acceptable, but maybe this is just how the service speed is in Europe. It’s not very fast. I waited in line for almost two hours, which is much slower compared to car rental companies in China like Shenzhou.
The service staff were unfriendly to Chinese customers and their English was poor. They insisted we upgrade our car and pay extra to switch from a manual Ford Focus to an automatic, adding full insurance which cost over 320 euros.
For the past few years, I have been traveling to Germany and Switzerland every January. This is my second time renting a car at Frankfurt Airport. Buchbinder is located right inside the airport, making it easy to find. The staff were very nice throughout the process. Picking up the car from the garage was convenient, and the car was new and well-equipped. Everyone was very satisfied!
We rented a seven-seater car, but upon arrival, we were told they didn't have any and had to switch us to a nine-seater Ford, which no one dared to drive. They didn't notify us via email beforehand either... When asked about toll fees, we weren't informed that a nine-seater requires a higher grade of toll pass, causing us to buy the wrong one... When returning the car, they made us contact the toll company ourselves to correct it... This completely disrupted our trip and wasted our time.
1. Car Model Issue: We booked a VW Multivan, which is a higher-end model in the MPV range. However, we ended up with a Ford Transit, which is equivalent to a utility vehicle, the lowest grade in that category. They said there were no other cars available, so we had no choice.
2. After getting the car, we found that the second row of the three-row seats was facing backward. The rental staff didn't know how to adjust the direction and told us to check with the drop-off location if anyone could help.
3. The staff at the Vienna airport rental office were unhelpful. One Caucasian guy was polite but said there was nothing he could do. Another guy who looked Indian was very rude and said we should go to Ford. When I asked why he didn't go to Ford, he claimed no rental company handles seat adjustments and that I didn't specify all seats had to face forward when booking. Eventually, we went to the drop-off location where workers helped us remove and reinstall the seat, but it took over an hour.
4. The service experience was very bad, and the staff were extremely arrogant.
Absolutely disgusting car rental company. The day after returning the car (with no issues reported at return), my credit card was inexplicably charged over 1700 euros without any notice. The resolution by ZuZuChe was very weak. I advise against using ZuZuChe for overseas rentals. Instead, go directly to large international car rental companies. ZuZuChe's partners are all small companies that probably make money by scamming customers. ZuZuChe should compensate customers for their losses.
I picked up the car at 8 AM. There weren't many people, and most counters were open. Filled out a few forms and had a $1000 pre-authorization, then took the car and left.
