Waited in line for a long time, then didn't get the reserved car model, was told to wait half an hour, after half an hour had to queue again, was rudely told there were no other options.
I arrived at the Global Drive rental office at 7:30 AM. There were two staff members present; one was assisting a customer while the other was doing nothing. I waited in the queue for about 20 minutes before the idle staff member attended to me.
The car given to us had issues, with two tires slowly leaking air, but the rental company insisted the car was fine. This caused our trip to be chaotic. Extremely irresponsible.
Like: . Dislike: I booked a BMW X1, but was given a Ford Edge. Later found out that the Ford was not cleaned before handed to me. Also, the petrol tank was empty.
I brought my driver's license and the free international driving permit translation certificate from Zuzuche, but I didn't get the German sworn translation certificate. As a result, the German car rental company required me to take full insurance or I wouldn't be able to rent the car. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to argue, so I ended up paying over 200 euros for insurance for 6 days while the car rental itself was just over 150 euros! Last time I used rentacars.com in Germany and paid directly on the website, then went to sign the contract and got the keys without anyone asking about the sworn translation certificate or insurance.
After returning the car, I was charged an 86-euro cleaning fee. It might be because of the muddy rain. However, this is the first time I've encountered such a situation after renting cars multiple times. It feels like being ripped off, and despite sending an email requesting an explanation, there's been no response for a week.
I was rear-ended in Vienna. I promptly sent photos of the scene and the police accident report to the rental company's email but did not receive any response. When returning the car, the staff said everything was okay and took the police report and accident information form. However, I later received an email about a damage assessment, and the 600 EUR deposit I paid when picking up the car has not been refunded yet.
