Charge my credit card again even it is paid to Easyrent cars. Counter say is free upgrade but end up charge extra.

They force you to buy additional insurance, otherwise they won't allow you to cross the border. The crossing fee is only 25 EUR, but the insurance costs 66 EUR plus tax, which altogether cost an extra 120 EUR. I booked a C-class but got an X1 instead, which is clearly not the same class in China. Maybe in Germany, X1 has the same price as C-class. I've had a good impression of Hertz before, but this experience was very disappointing. The staff refused to mediate over the phone with the booking agency. It was really frustrating. If I weren't in a hurry, I would've canceled the rental. Do not choose this company.

Everything smooth

Everything was satisfactory except I didn't get the model I booked.

I had two reservations, but they only recognized one. The other one required an additional fee. In the end, it cost me 300 euros more than the original reservation.

Average service

The reserved Galaxy model was not available, and the offered Smax didn't have enough space for six people. We had to consider upgrading to a Ford Tourneo by paying an extra fee. Initially, we were told verbally that it would cost about 13 euros per day extra. After agreeing to the upgrade, I had to go see the actual car myself, which was a hassle since the Tourneo isn't available in our country, so I didn't know what to expect. After agreeing to the upgrade, the paperwork showed an additional 16 euros per day, plus a 23.5% service fee and a 19% tax, which amounted to almost 25 euros per day extra. I felt somewhat cheated but had to accept due to time constraints. Additionally, regarding the toll fees for Austria and Switzerland, I was charged 25 euros. Upon reaching the border, I cautiously asked the gas station staff, and they didn't recognize the bill I had. I ended up having to buy toll fees separately for over 40 euros. Upon returning the car at the end of our trip, I asked the Hertz counter and was told that the CROSS BORDER FEE was for taking the car across borders, and toll fees still needed to be paid separately by me. Due to time constraints, I couldn't argue further. This wasn't just a money issue; if I hadn't been cautious and asked at the border, I might have faced fines or legal issues for not having the required toll stickers on the car windshield.

The insurance details were not accurately described; it didn't cover everything as claimed. We ended up paying an additional 500 euros at the counter.

Unable to pick up the car in advance

On arrival I had to wait nearly an hour with 4 children as there was only one person working at the desk. When I returned the car I realised I left my tablet under the passenger seat for safe keeping, when I called to them to retrieve it they said they didn't see it and I should email the office, nearly a week later I still got no reply!!!

Aggressively pushed insurance, and my complaints were dismissed. Ended up paying for two insurances both domestically and abroad, costing over 10,000 yuan extra.

Professional and reliable

The first time I went a bit late, they said I didn't follow the schedule and there were no cars left. I had to rebook at double the price and buy another insurance, wasting the previous 189 yuan insurance.

Very disappointing. Reserved a car, but upon arrival, they said there were no cars available and couldn't tell us how long the wait would be. We had to pay extra to get a different car, and the only option was an Audi A7. Without informing us of the price, they charged an additional 1,400 euros to my card. Up till now, I have no idea what this charge is for.
