Worst experience ever customer service poor car not ready on pick up told to come back in 30 minutes car not clean it was all about trying to sell us premium insurance never again

Worst service ever,the staff didn’t know what they were doing,we were in the queue for 40 mins and they wanted more money from me and was trying to get me to cancel the booking to rebook.
Car had not been cleaned,full of scratches and I was told the car was orange it wasn’t it was blue.
The rental car staff left work early without permission. When returning the car, they refused and wanted me to go to another faraway location. Only after negotiating did they agree to take the car back. However, they charged me $333 upon settlement, which is very deceitful.
I saw many bad reviews before renting, and thought that by paying attention to all the details, it would be fine. However, after returning to China, I found some inexplicable charges. After negotiating, I discovered they had purposely overcharged me for two extra days. I actually returned the car on the evening of the 22nd, but the bill said I returned it on the 24th. I have requested the rental platform to negotiate and compiled all the documents, asking my colleague in the U.S. to file a complaint against them. I suspect they overcharge Chinese orders maliciously, knowing it’s difficult for them to deal with it after returning home.
waited over 30 minutes at the counter to collect car, then had to walk to a different terminal to collect the car. After a 8 and a half hour flight pretty annoying!! Then got to the car, it hadnt been cleaned inside and stunk of stale cigarettes!!! Not pleasant, and not happy

The queue to collect the car was over an hour and a half which I consider completely unreasonable. At one point there were 4 members of staff talking amongst themselves rather than serving the very long queue of people, who were extremely tired after a long trip. When I did get to the desk, the employee then attempted to sell various insurances, claiming we didn’t have any protection when the paperwork clearly stated we did. Obviously, we did not take the insurance, but he told lies about the amount of cover we had, trying to take advantage of our lack of knowledge of the country and our fatigue. I loved the car, it was exactly what we needed, but the service at Budget on pick up was terrible. On return it was easy and friendly.

The car was perfect as it was upgraded in to Dodug Journey, yes it was consuming a lot of gas but it was very comfortable, the people of budget in the pick up and drop of were so helpful and profetional ... it was a smooth ride
Arrived at 12:30 AM, waited an hour in line to complete the paperwork. When it was finally my turn, the staff went to check the vehicle for 15 minutes. When they returned, they asked me to pay. Luckily, I asked what the charge was for, because my English isn't great and I didn't understand right away. I then remembered someone mentioning a mandatory insurance fee. It turned out to be true, but I declined. The staff wasn't happy. When I went to pick up the car, the parking spot was poorly marked and I had trouble finding any staff to help. When I finally found someone, I almost drove off in the car before noticing it was damaged—the front headlights were broken! I had booked an SUV, but was told this was the only one left. The staff was polite but had no other car options. After searching for an hour, I settled for a sedan, which had a big scratch on the back—thankfully, I noticed it, otherwise I couldn't have explained it later. In the end, we could only fit four people with luggage in the back seat. Fortunately, we were only four people, or we would've had to wait even longer. They refunded $80. We finally left at 3 AM, which really spoiled our initial mood upon arriving in the US.
I had a very bad experience. There were long queues, and the staff kept coming up with various reasons to make us upgrade the car by paying more. The car they provided wasn't the one we reserved, and the trunk couldn't even fit our luggage. We had to pay extra to get a suitable car in the end.
Got to the counter for collection was told there was no car, would we take another,l replied as long as it’s a soft top,was then told the car would be twenty minutes,
Forty minutes later still no car,when I returned to the counter was told the car had not been returned yet,
After a further thirty minutes the car turned up,
No apologies no nothing just abruptly told your car is in bay whatever,
We got to the car to find it had not been cleaned,the oil change light was on,the washer fluid needed filling,
We filled the washer up ourselves,
The car return was ok

We waited in line for over an hour before we reached the desk where we were then offered a Volkswagen beetle instead of the Ford mustang convertible we had booked months before because there was no mustang available (it does state or similar but anyone who believes a VW beetle is similar to a Ford mustang is delusional!!). We were then told if we waited 20 minutes we could have a mustang from another hire company (Avis). We waited over an hour then finally went back to the desk and we were told there is a blue mustang waiting for us. We went to collect the car and realised the paperwork was for a red mustang which we found and confirmed with Avis staff was the correct car.. as I went to drive off I realised the rear view mirror was completely hanging off.. we tried to fix it but couldnt so spent ages trying to get help from staff. Eventually someone arranged for a different mustang to be bought over from Avis, this took another 45 minutes, when this arrived it had no GPS so we had to wait a further 30 minutes for this to be rectified.. overall we were there for well over 3 hours which ruined our plans for our first day of our holiday. The car had also not been service as we had to buy engine oil and windscreen wash too plus one of the rear seat belts was stuck!
Overall this was a very stressful and poor experience and we will not be booking with Budget or Avis ever again.
