The staff's attitude was mediocre. When I pointed out some scratches that were not originally mentioned, the female employee got quite upset. She couldn't make a decision on her own and had to call a supervisor to confirm and make a note.
Europcar is pretty good. Picked up the car in Vienna, the process was simple. An automatic diesel Golf. The car was very new, only 15,000 kilometers, and very easy to drive. Returned the car in Prague, and the store even helped call a taxi. No upselling, charges were according to the contract. Recommended.
I originally booked a POLO online, but when I arrived at the store, they said the car I booked was too small for three people and asked if I wanted to change the car. I went to the parking lot to check, and they had arranged a FIAT500 for me, a two-door small car, and the back seats couldn't accommodate anyone. After further communication, they finally replaced it with a POLO. It's so strange, couldn't they see the model I booked in the order? There was a language barrier, so I couldn't argue with them, which wasted a lot of time. I am not very satisfied with this service.
The service was terrible! The car broke down halfway, and they asked the customer to contact the car supplier on their own. They didn't provide a replacement vehicle and asked the customer to take a taxi back from 70km away from the destination. The rental company would cover the taxi fare, but it had to be done before they closed, otherwise, they would be off duty! They even said they reserved the right to hold the customer responsible after the vehicle inspection report is out!? Unbelievable. Especially since I already pointed out that the clutch felt off when I picked up the car. Still, they said they would wait for the inspection report before making any decisions. Also, the car provided was not the model I originally rented; it had a lower chassis. When driving in heavy snow, its passability was terrible!
This was my first time driving in Europe, and I was worried about being scammed by the car rental company. However, the staff at Europcar in Austria and the Czech Republic were nice and patient. They also upgraded my car. During the return in the Czech Republic, the staff inspected the car and signed off.
The store in the center of Vienna is very convenient, with car pickup in the adjacent garage, but the garage staff can be hard to find. Once the car is picked up without issues, you can leave directly. Driving was limited to Austria with a provided highway ticket. Returning the car was near Salzburg train station, which required a bit of walking, but self-service return was supported. Overall, it was satisfactory. However, the cancellation of the credit card pre-authorization took a bit long.
Very efficient. I booked an automatic Golf but got a Mercedes B180 instead. However, the amount displayed on QEEQ was EUR 707.81, but the store informed me it was around 750 euros, mentioning some kind of tax that I didn't quite understand!
Europcar pays attention to details, and the vehicle condition was excellent. Our car was almost brand new. However, the self-service pickup was slightly worrying, lacking a personal touch.
Because of the National Day special offer on the Zuzuche website, I booked an A4 Avant early. However, upon arrival, they said they didn't have this car at all and gave me a Hyundai. Finally, I had to pay extra to get a Q3, but the trunk couldn't fit all the luggage. Fortunately, it was a self-drive trip for three people. Overall, the experience was bad, and I plan to start a complaint in Shanghai.
