The drop-off location wasn't specified clearly. The return in Las Vegas was on the fifth floor of a hotel parking lot. The instructions only provided an address, which was a hotel. Without reading other people's reviews, it's impossible to find! Unless you inquire in advance, but who would think the pick-up spot is a yard, and the drop-off would be in such a strange place?! I needed to return the car by 5 PM, arrived at the designated spot by 4:30 PM, but didn't finish until 5:30 PM! If there's a late return fee, I'll need to deal with you guys again!
The return process was very rough, and I was overcharged. There was a quarter tank of gas left, but they charged me for a full tank. They pre-charged for the tolls, then didn't check at the return and just took the full amount, over 100 dollars. I had to go to the counter to cancel it.
As it was my first time renting a car in the US, the Dollar rental staff's unclear language caused me to end up with two extra insurances, a full tank of gas, and a daily fixed toll fee.
“The car was good your staff are good but your management are a pack of assholes!”
About Dollar:8.0/10
I felt I as decieved regarding the contract I entered in to.i rented a car intially for $36 dollars a day and after I changed the contract the rate nearly tripled.
Renting a car was convenient. However, returning it was troublesome. Finding the return location was very difficult. It should be clearly stated in the return instructions.
They promised a refund for the toll device fee if not used, but there was no device installed and no refund was given. They also aggressively pushed various insurance policies, but fortunately, I had already purchased travel insurance in my home country and only after showing this could I avoid buying more. There are a lot of hidden costs, not as mentioned on the rental site. Scam! Awful!
I returned the car with a full tank, but they still charged me $57 for fuel and made me call customer service myself. Only refunded $51. Previously, they even tried to scam me by saying their fuel was cheap and to return the car with an empty tank. Absolutely shameless.
