BUDGET CAR RENTAL REVIEWS IN CANADA

It appears no car in Canada comes with breakdown cover, so Budget tried to sell me extra cover, car dirty inside and outside

I waited at the counter for prob 15 min while staff kept coming in & out of the front area saying they would be with me in a minute. Then I had to work really hard to get the quoted price for my rental as the agent kept trying to upsell me & continually tried to blatantly ignore my questions regarding the price. I think they were out of the cheapest compact car I had requested & rather than providing me a free upgrade they were trying to upsell me & make me pay the difference. I left with the same price as I had been quoted but boy did they try & use all the sales tactics in the book to get me to pay more. I would NOT recommend renting from budget! If u do go in with your master negotiator hat on.

As a website the reservation process went smoothly. Just wish they wouldn't contract with budget because of the above mentioned reasons.

Although i rented a spark and i paid 4 dollars more for that. I was given small Hyundai. Also i had to deposit 350 dollars that was not clear in advance.

The car doesn't have adroid auto nor apple auto which is unexpected and inconvenient

I had already bought insurance through the rental service back home, but it wasn't explained to me at pickup, leading to me purchasing duplicate insurance.

The service representative was a newbie and wrote down the wrong vehicle location. We didn't double-check and took the wrong car. After the real renter drove it away, we realized we might have left our license in that car. The representative was very slow in contacting the other renter and even claimed not to know what car was parked there. We had to rely on our memory of the license plate to track it down, and by then, the car had been gone for 20 minutes.

The original car they gave was faulty. Had to return and replace it. Time was wasted but replacement was great

Rented a Full-Size vehicle but only got a Jetta?! Car was in a very average condition, had a huge crack on the windshield that did make it harder to see when the sun reflected on it. Had similar experiences with other vehicle rentals in the last year and would always get a decent car, but it wasn't the case with Budget. Probably not using Budget again as I had far better experiences with other rental services.

Quite easy to book, great price and had no problems at all. I'd surely use it again to rent.

Unbelievable or despicable that Budget and Hertz, which are probably different brands from the same company, hire only one employee each for pick-up desk. Especially at a time when a long haul flight (read with many passengers) lands. Hard to understand why pick-up procedures take so long. Took more than 60 minutes overall. And I was lucky to be 4 or 5th in the line. They must have been over 20 when I finished...

Budget is a well-known rental company. The service was decent, and there was no upselling of insurance.

Helpful counter staff. Gravel on floor of car as well as bits of trash in the back seat area. No one came out to check the car for damage before I drove off in it, something that has been done with previous rentals.

The car was OK, clean and did the job. But the service provided by the counter staff was lousy. It took 1.5 hrs waiting time for a car which was reserved months ago. Budget will never see me again as a customer.

Booking the car was no problem, everything went smooth and worked out as expected.

Despite booking an economy compact this was upgraded for free to a Chevy Impala at the rental location. The Impala was surprisingly economical.

No queue when picking up the car, waited fifteen minutes to return the car. All within an acceptable range.

Car wasn't available so they offered a free upgrade. The upgrade car was dirty however so we had to wait an additional 20 minutes for it to be washed.

The car was exceed expectation is just because they ran out of external GPS and got me a free upgrade to a intermediate class vehicle with built in GPS. The attitude of the customer service from Budget was so so. And took around 20-25 minutes to complete the pick up.

It was good, and the price drop detector did not change anything so no experience of that. The customer service was so so where they should check if Budget has GPS available for me and if the vehicle available for cross border between US and Canada instead of asking me check myself when I meet budget.
