The process was quite fast, and the return was very smooth. Very good overall, although I booked a BMW or a Mercedes, but got a Volvo V60. I thought it was an S60 and agreed, but it turned out to be a V60. Although the car is quite long, it was still cramped for two adults and one child in the back seat. However, the car's features are really powerful, so I didn't pursue it further.
Great, even though I didn't get the Mercedes C I booked, they upgraded me to a Volvo V40. It was excellent, very fuel-efficient. I filled up once for 800 km and drove for thousands of kilometers without spending much. The car was new and the built-in GPS was very handy. I recommend renting a car with a GPS to everyone. As for the domestic navigation devices, forget about them. I brought one and never used it, and now I have to deal with returning it.
The service was good. Under a strong recommendation from the counter staff and considering the heavy snow, I bought full insurance. However, they upgraded the car model, so overall, it was quite affordable and reassuring.
The drive was smooth, completed paperwork at the counter, picked up the car at the parking lot, and there were staff available to answer questions about the car.
The condition of the company's cars is excellent, but the staff at the store kept pushing insurance and other vehicle options, which was quite annoying.
The trip was full of unexpected events! To summarize, we had a minor accident during the journey. We called Hertz's international emergency assistance, and the German customer service patiently handled all my silly questions and helped us find a nearby replacement vehicle. Thanks to them, our trip was saved. 5 stars!
Overall, I'm satisfied with the service. After purchasing the super cover, I didn't even need an inspection when returning the car, which was very convenient. I rented a Mercedes C-Class but ended up with a V60. However, the car was very new, with only 1500km, and in great condition.
It took almost an hour to find the return location in Heidelberg (near the symphony orchestra). The address could not be found on two different GPS systems, which was really frustrating.
Everything else was fine.
