When returning the car, I was rushing for my flight and the fuel was just slightly below full (photo provided). I thought it would be fine even if some fuel charges were added. Unexpectedly, they ended up deducting $73 (including fuel cost, extra service fees, taxes, and other charges). It was quite frustrating.
1. The return process took a long time as there were very few local staff. They claimed there was damage to the front of the car during return, but after reviewing the photos, it was confirmed that the scratch was already there at pickup. 2. After returning, I received two credit card charge statements and am currently contacting the platform to clarify the reason.
Very satisfied, affordable price, excellent car condition, a car with 10,000km mileage. Delayed the return by half an hour in the end without being charged for an extra day.
When I reserved a rental car, I also signed up for full coverage insurance. However, I did not understand when I was told that if there was an accident and damage, I would have to pay 5900 NZD first and claim the damage amount separately from the insurance company. If you signed up for insurance at the same time as reserving a rental car on the reservation site, it would be normal for the rental car company and the insurance company to handle each other's insurance processing so that there is no cost to the customer. Also, I was told that if I signed up for insurance directly with ACE Rental Cars at the pick-up counter, I would not have to pay any costs even if an accident occurs, but I ended up signing up for double insurance.
