Eurocar is relatively cost-effective among car rental companies. The car condition is good, and being a chain company, it provides a reliable service. They don’t have hidden fees or unreasonable deposit charges like smaller companies. Reminder to read the terms carefully. In Europe, Eurocar is recommended over Avis as it's cheaper while maintaining quality. For the wealthy, any choice is fine.
Booked a Volkswagen Caddy medium MPV, but the car provided was in very poor condition, and the last row of seats couldn't be folded down. They then offered a Ford Galaxy for an additional £250, claiming it was a different class of vehicle. Due to time constraints, I signed the agreement, but later discovered that both cars belong to the same category. This is a hidden trap, be cautious.
Shared location with Enterprise, same service. A £200 deposit was taken when picking up the car and refunded upon return. It took around 30 hours to get the deposit back into my account. They only checked the tires and exterior when returning, even though it had rained and was a bit dirty, it didn't affect the inspection.
This is my fifth time renting a car abroad, and I've never encountered such a rogue and deceitful rental company! Be very careful!
Firstly, if your English isn't fluent, the sales staff will speak very quickly to push insurance. I understand that, but even after refusing multiple times, they persisted.
Secondly, they pushed the FUEL SERVICE OPTION. I had never come across this before, so I repeatedly confirmed if it was a pre-authorization and if returning the car with a full tank meant I'd get a refund. The sales staff assured me it was, but despite returning the car with a full tank, I didn't get a refund and was charged much more than the contract amount for no apparent reason.
Later, I found out that it is indeed an additional service. However, rental platforms also say they can't restrain individual fraudulent behavior without a recording. So next time, make sure to record everything! Relying on the platform won't solve the problem!
Lastly, in the restroom of this rental company, my mother overheard employees openly mocking and ridiculing Chinese people, saying they know nothing and laughing loudly.
While we were picking up the car, another family was arguing with the staff over unclear charges. It's better to choose another company. Do not rent from Alamo in the UK! I've rented from them in the US and Canada before without issues, but in the UK, be very cautious!
Huge scam!!!! They said there were no issues when I returned the car, but when I got back home, I received a damage fine, even though I had full insurance. What made me the most angry was the Hertz staff. In Edinburgh, we paid for parking but still got a fine. After returning the car, we went to the front desk to discuss how to handle it. Initially, the Hertz employee was very nice and asked us to send the ticket and our parking receipt to Hertz, promising they would handle it. But then, all of a sudden, they changed their tune and told us to pay the fine first, saying they would help us get a refund from the city council. They even made us pay the fine right there on the spot, despite us risking being late for our flight. After paying, the Hertz employee immediately became hostile and ignored us, serving other customers instead. It felt very intentional and extremely frustrating, like something out of a TV drama. When we got angry and demanded an explanation, they said it was not Hertz's responsibility and we should deal with it ourselves! Later, we realized it was a trick. By making us pay, they shifted the dispute to be between us and the Edinburgh government. To appeal the fine, we would need to provide the car owner's information, but we couldn't process it without that. Only Hertz could resolve this mistake, but to avoid hassle, they tricked us! Otherwise, they would have been charged, and we would have had to provide proof, making it a dispute between the car owner and Edinburgh's government. Sadly, when I was studying in the UK, I heard about how bad Hertz staff were, and many people preferred to choose Europcar even if it was more expensive. Now I've seen it for myself, what a terrible company. The service is extremely poor, whether picking up or returning the car! PS: We waited forty minutes for the Hertz shuttle at the airport!
I don't understand why after completing the paperwork, we had to wait for someone to bring us the car. When I asked, someone checked and said only a Kia Stinger was available. Further inquiries were met with impatience.
1. The store did not provide the specified car model and did not offer a similar type;
2. They made me purchase full insurance without informing me, even though I had already bought supplemental insurance on Zuzuche. The rental company did not give a reasonable response after I raised a complaint;
3. Less than 200 kilometers after picking up the car, the antifreeze alarm went off. We had to wait for assistance, disrupting our trip and forcing us to book new hotels, making the four of us lose 4,000 RMB;
4. After 1,000 kilometers, the AdBlue warning light came on, making our journey stressful;
5. All complaints to the rental company received no effective responses, and they were unreasonable.
One of the black employees was extremely dishonest. I specifically booked a Honda Jazz, but he gave me a lower class vehicle instead. The trunk was very small and couldn't fit two suitcases. I asked to switch to a Jazz, and he pretended to check with his colleague via walkie-talkie, but then told me there were no Jazz cars available. Resigned, I decided to make do with the car. However, upon further inspection, I found many scratches all over it, which I couldn't accept. So, I returned to the counter and asked for a newer car. When another white employee helped me, he said they had Jazz cars available. It seemed the black employee was unhappy because I didn't take up many of his suggested add-ons, so he gave me a hard time. This behavior from the black employee severely tarnished the company's image!
