Nobody showed up with shuttle and nobody answered phone at office. Horrible service. Would not use again. Ended up having to rent alternative, on the spot at other vendor, for more.

We reserved a SUV midsize. When we arrived in Baltimore we were told they did not have one. I booked about a month in advance for a 1 week trip.
The worst part was that water leaked on my foot/leg n the passenger side. I have lymphoma/lymphedema and have to keep my left leg wrapped. Impossible to do due to water leakage. :-( so my leg swelled.
Worst customer service ever. Slow, and rude. Need better training. No employee at desk for over 10 minutes. Car was low on gas. Windows in car were dirty.
The drop off was confusing, the lane was blocked by cones, and it was not clearly marked.
No one was available at Kiosk and the instrucions to continue on to the inside counter were not clearly visible.
No other auto rentals require this extra step.
The car had dents, scratches, & several other marks on the passenger doors. When I notified them of the damage I was told to just take a picture. It was a bit excessive & asked for a different car. I was told to just take a picture that I wouldn’t be billed for it.
This was my first time renting a car from Payless. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly, although I did feel a bit pressured by his fast-speaking and lack of explanation of the contract. Also, be careful of purchasing insurance through PAYLESS, they will try to sneak in "extras" that you don't need. Check in and check out was a breeze though, and that was a nice relief. Overall, would rent from them again.
The counter staff tried to upsell a more expensive vehicle to every customer while I was at the counter. It wasn't even subtle and definitely a put off. Didn't have my car supposedly so I opted for a minivan which had more space anyway so it worked out. Vehicle was fine and value was good. Staff's selling techniques was the issue.
I was tricked into getting an upgrade thinking its total is $400 but when I turned in the car I DiscoverEd that I was conned into the sale Because The $400 was only the upgrade fee and the total fee was $665 this is unpractical business practices And I expect To be Reimbursed Or I will report it to Is the Better Business Bureau And other Regulatory Bodies

Even though I had a reservation for a SUV, that vehicle or anything similar was available. What was the purposes of a reservation was the question I asked the PAYLESS representative. She indicated that the “system” does not allow her to see what vehicles were reserved for that day. Supposedly employees don’t have access to view what cars are needed for customers with reservations. There was no attempt to find a vehicle which could accommodate 6 - 7 passengers. Employee did not check other PAYLESS sites in Wichita for a possible rental. It was a, sorry can’t help you, attitude. I ended up driving my car to Albuquerque. Very poor customer service and inadequate reservation system. Will never rent from PAYLESS or recommend PAYLESS to friends and family.

It was 3am by the time we arrived and JARED made us feel very stupid. We went straight to the Payless counter which was not manned. JARED told us about needing to go through the line but there was not anyone in line to need to go through the maze so he made it sound like he was doing us a favor to come on over to the BUDGET counter where he could help us. He was rude, did not care at all about us and I personally just think he hated his job. He could NOT explain why the fee was more than the voucher I had from EasyRentCars.com. He challenged me on not wanting insurance and kept trying up sale us the whole time we were there for our rental. I am writing a letter to Payless about Jared so no worries there. It is just sad to be so tired and excited about being in Maui and have someone be so awful to you! He never said welcome to Maui or thank you for using Payless or anything. He was SO BAD! Our car was horrible but to be honest, for the price we paid, we did not care about all the dings and scary noises the car made. It served its purpose for what we needed it for. Jared on the other hand needs to get another job and get happy. So sad

Being a first time APP user, we got a great discount and the app was super easy. I actually cancelled and rebooked a lot because I kept finding better deals and then the automatic decrease function if there was one was GREAT! Loved my experience with you and will use you again I promise!

The driver’s side floor carpet was torn, my shoe heel kept getting stuck in the fragment of the tattered carpet... could’ve been contributed to accident if I weren’t a conscientious driver.
