“Terrible service at pick-up location, worst car rental experience so far in the last 10 years”

I'm copying my review on google to warn customers to stay away from Interrent:
I highly recommend trying a different car rental service. Terrible experience picking up the car. Nearly 1 hour wait with only 3 customers in front of us before reaching the counter was just the beginning. The processing of our reservation was extremely slow and the personel (although friendly) were quite incompetent. My credit card did not work with their machine and they made me feel very bad about it, suggesting that maybe I didn't have enough funds for the >1200 euro deposit. We tried as well my partners card and again it didn't work. In the end, it worked perfectly on a different machine (which we suggested trying). We almost payed for an additional 90 euro deposit insurance because their credit card machine was not functioning. They did not appologize, only smiled and said we were lucky to avoid paying for the insurance. When we left I saw they made no move to remove the credit card machine and suspect they push customers into buying into this additional 90 euro insurance when their card "doesn't work".

La pire expérience de location. Deux heures d'attente pour récupérer un véhicule déjà réservé et payé d'avance. Le guichet interrent était fermé à l'arrivé, j'ai été redirigé vers celui de Goldcar. Où après deux heure d'attente, on m'a fait de la pression pour prendre différentes assurances. Pour finir, un retour identique avec de l'attente pour bien vous faire comprendre que vous auriez du prendre l'assurance hors de prix. Bref un personnel détestable. Donc plus jamais Goldcar ni interrent.
Upon picking up the car I was advised I needed to pay 1000 euros deposit vis a credit card, which I do not have, so instead I was compelled to pay 130 euros for fully comp insurance that I did not want, meaning my great deal was in fact, terrible. The staff were rude and the car was downgraded from the reserved 'Golf or similar'

Easy to find counter in the airport terminal, no queue, paperwork sorted and key in hand within 15 mins. Almost new Seat LEON in very good condition. Overall very impressed.
Collection point was not on airport as described. So after queuing for 20 mins then had to find a shuttle bus( not clear where from) and go off airport. So booking not as described.

A very budget business, poorly staffed, unable to communicate accurately. I am waiting on a final charge to come through that will no doubt layer yet another cost on top of! I will be expecting some money back!

Be very aware on pick up, counter staff FORCE you take their extra insurance. And try every trick in the book to get you to take it on. Even when I purchased the extra insurance through easy rent cars through AXA. Girl on the desk said we were covered for nothing. And would be charged at any and every event. She even said she didn't know who AXA was, yet when she opened their insurance policy. They were covered through AXA.
My advice, DO NOT be fooled by their lies. If your policy has it on black and white. Stick to your guns. They'll even threaten to revoke the voucher and refuse the hire. But you are covered. And don't let them hassle you.

Perfect. Easy service. And when I encountered problems at inter rent desk. The lady in the customer service centre for easy rent cars was very helpful and confirmed my policy. Thank you very much. I will always use Easy rent cars for future rentals
Overall Interrent were ok. They did stress car had to be returned clean, which is acceptable and we were happy to do this ourselves. However we did feel pressured to opt for car cleaning fee before collecting hire car as agent explained we could be charged up to €60 if they weren’t happy with cleanliness of vehicle on return. When we did collect the vehicle it had only a cursory clean and the interior didn't appear to have been vacuumed and cleaned since last hire.
Staff tried to sell insurance that I had already purchased, explained that the one I already had was not valid. Quite an unnecessary stressful experience. No indication on arrival as to where the shuttle was. Had to wait for 40 minutes outside airport for shuttle. Overall it took more than 1h30 to pick up car. Staff was quite nice but unnecessarily forceful on insurance. I would not recommend this car rental company. Going back to airport was chaotic.

Personnel pas du tout aimable ,qui veux a tout prix vous re fourguer une assurance complémentaire,alors que nous l’avions déjà prise ,mais pour eux ,ce que nous avions pris n’etait pas bien. + 141,50 € pour le plein prélevé sur CB et comme nous avons rendu avec le plein et même lavé la voiture ,ils ne nous remboursent que 129,00. Cherchez l’arnaque !!! Vous comprendrez que nous ne pouvons recommander ce genre de loueurs .
Pushy staff, tried to make us take out extra insurance for over£200, we had full insurance taken out with easy rent on booking. We explained this but still they tried to make us take out their insurance as well ( we declined) . She then asked us to upgrade the car also and pay a waver of 21 euro to pay for flexi fuel .
Interrent (owned by Europcar along with Goldcar) have so many hidden charges and are terrible at communicating. Either prepare for a lengthy battle over the costs, or avoid entirely.
