The store is located next to a busy street, you need to pick up the car from a nearby underground parking lot. They have staff to assist you, which is quite convenient.
I clearly bought full insurance and the order specified that collision insurance was included. However, at the pickup, they insisted that I didn't have collision insurance and if there was any damage, I would have to pay 1600 euros. They forced me to buy collision insurance again!
The staff clearly explained the rental process, precautions, and fee structure in detail. The rental company at Sevilla train station is on the second floor, facing the train stops. The car pickup point is on the ground floor parking lot, easy to find. Both pick-up and drop-off are mostly self-service.
The contract wasn't in English, so we could only roughly understand it by looking at the prices. There were 4 of us, but they counted each of us as separate additions, so we ended up paying for insurance for 4 drivers. Overall, they didn’t explain things clearly.
The procedures were very smooth. They changed the pickup location to one closer to my hotel directly at the pickup site. However, the in-store staff suggested buying full insurance, which was quite expensive. The cost of full insurance for 9 days was the same as 9 days of car rental. Everything else was great. The car was relatively new.
When we arrived at the airport to pick up the car, they required us to present two international credit cards for the driver as a guarantee. Avis explained that it was because we rented a high-end car, an Audi A4. I felt it was unnecessary. After some negotiation, they gave us a smaller Infiniti mini wagon. Although Avis said it was a downgrade, the car we got was brand new. Amazing!
We were overcharged for the young driver fee and the second driver fee. Additionally, there is still a charge of several dozen euros that we don't understand. It was a very bad car rental experience.
Overall it was good, but after returning to our country, we found out they deducted 1400 euros because we scratched the car and also charged us for fuel.
The local staff are quite accommodating. We arrived early and they allowed us to pick up the car after a quick greeting. Both pick-up and return processes were smooth. They also suggested adding some insurance for 4 euros a day, which made us feel more secure.
