“El coche correcto, pero Sicily By Car me estafaron.”
About Sicily By Car:5.0/10
1. The waiting time was too long; it took about 30 minutes from starting the process to getting the car keys for each vehicle.
2. The staff handling the car pickup required the driver's home address to be accurately searchable on her Google Maps app. This caused many issues. One of our driver's home address couldn't be found, so we had to use another driver's address, resulting in an extra charge of over 80 euros to add a second driver.
The car was a fiat 500 not the car we booked.
It was in poor condition but mechanically ok.
The Guy Andreas who we have met before is very easy to talk to and was understanding of the condition of the car.
The process of getting a car at the desk took 40 minutes despite us being the only people at the booking desk. It was late in the afternoon so not ideal.
The service attitude of the car rental company is good, and the car's condition is also decent. However, during the return process, it felt like they were trying to charge you unnecessarily, being extremely meticulous and picky about every scratch, which made me uncomfortable.
Overall, it was quite good. The drop-off process was efficient, with no damage or accidents. They upgraded me from a Peugeot 208 to a Citroën C3 manual diesel. The car had over 80,000 kilometers on it. I had to add AdBlue myself, costing over 16 euros. QEEQ mentioned I could get reimbursed from the rental company, but I threw away the receipt. Sisilybycar doesn't charge extra for cross-country trips, which is great!
