Overall, quite satisfied. Make sure to scan the QR code to queue as soon as you arrive at the store, otherwise you might have to wait for a long time. I stood at the store for five minutes before noticing the sign and ended up waiting 40 minutes to be served (you can also pay over 40 euros to skip the line).
When picking up the car, I was given a rental agreement, but it was blank with no damages marked. The staff said that all records were in the system. The actual mileage didn't quite match, but since I had unlimited mileage, I didn't worry about it. The counter staff only handed me the keys without accompanying me for a vehicle inspection. Therefore, I strongly suggest thoroughly inspecting the car and taking photos of any damages before driving off, as the staff will conduct a detailed inspection when you return the vehicle.
Also, if you're renting a 9-seater vehicle, make sure to confirm the vehicle's height. This is important for clearance limitations and to avoid issues with certain parking garages. Damage caused by height restrictions is not covered by insurance. When I rented the car, the staff didn’t inform me, nor was there any reminder inside the vehicle.
The process was quick, and they provided the reserved car, which turned out to be diesel-powered. The engine was very strong, easily handling mountain roads and highways. Be sure to have certified official documents ready, as both the car rental company and the police will only recognize these.
The pickup process was extremely slow. It took 30-60 minutes per person, and I had to wait in line for nearly an hour. Then it took another 45 minutes to complete the paperwork. The prolonged process almost caused me to miss my subsequent plans.
This was my first time renting a car abroad, and the experience was fantastic. The car was very new, with less than 7000 kilometers driven. It was a hybrid with great power, easily handling the slopes of Taormina, and even had a hill descent control feature. Quite easy to operate.
An additional insurance charge was added during pickup. Used the car for three days without any issues, but the central display screen suddenly stopped working during return, almost causing a dispute. After restarting the vehicle a few times, it started working again.
