Like: Great to be picked up and dropped at airport, although there was some confusion over meeting place which cost 20 minutes.

I arrived at the ZQN Thrifty counter as advised and our flight was delayed by 7 hours. I had called and advised the counter staff of this prior.
When I arrived, a family were dropping off their key and three staff were on the counter. One was talking to the customer about their holiday and 2 were completing invoices of some description from the EFT-POS receipts of the day.
Neither acknowledged my presence or stopped their task to assist me and my booking for a good 5-10 minutes. Then just as it was wrapping up, a person waiting behind me pushed in and the lady who was talking to the other customer took him first. She could see I was visibly upset by and did attempt a silent apology, but I was furious as I had already been waiting patiently and someone who barges in was given priority. In addition when I was receiving my car paperwork, I was advised we had been upgraded from a compact car to an SUV - I was happy with the car we ended up with, but shocked to learn of my booking being classed as a 'compact' as even on this website page it states 'intermediate' So I was shocked to learn we could have ended up with a compact car which is not what we ordered.
The staff was very polite. The store is shared with Thrifty; the sign outside says Thrifty, but there is a small Dollar sign on the counter which is not very obvious. Be sure to look carefully.

I was very disappointed that the dollar counter staff tried selling me insurance again even after I explained that I had purchased this through easy rent cars. He told me a number of times that I wasn’t actually insured when in fact I was, just not through them. I think that the insurance process is misleading for customers, and most people would just listen to what the staff member was selling and take it. Resulting in a double up of insurance. Not impressed about that process and glad I understand it now for future.
They didn't inform us that we had to park in a designated lot when returning the car. No vehicle inspection was done upon return. Two days after returning home, we received a huge fine because they couldn't find the car! It was clearly their mistake, but they made the customer pay for it!
Like: I loved how easy it was, that the car was in great condition, was zippy and economical. Especially loved the price. The staff member was extremely nice and friendly, and helpful. Dislike: The only snag was that the location didn't show up on GoogleMaps but the staff member gave me a workaround as soon as she could.

Car wasn’t clean when we received it and also made a noise when we applied the brake. Other than that it was a modern vehicle and well priced compared to other Queenstown options.

Number to dial to contact Dollar can be a bit confusing. Maybe I'm just not that savvy with dialing international numbers. The number that finally worked was 027 808 6503. This didn't work. +64 27 808 6503.
Very satisfied with service attitude and waiting time. After returning the car, I realized I had left a piece of luggage in the car. The staff drove back to the airport to return it.
Absolutely misleading of information. I was expecting to get at least a sedan car. I have been handed a hatchback cheap car which I can rent out cheaper what I have paid for. They suppose to give me Toyota Corolla or similar which based on the picture it should be a sedan, not a hatchback. Staff was from thrifty was laughing at us and felt insulted. Never will hire from them.
Only one employee was responsible for shuttle and car pickup, so it wasn't as efficient as other companies. The reserved car was not available, so they changed the model at the last minute. But they gave us a free tank of fuel, which was a nice bonus.
I specifically contacted QEEQ prior due to luggage space concerns and requested a Highlander, but we ended up with a Santa Fe. Although we managed to fit everything in the end, it was still somewhat disappointing.
