HERTZ CAR RENTAL REVIEWS IN ITALY

Never choose Hertz for car rentals. The waiting time is long, and any foreign member can cut in line ahead of you. The wait was at least half an hour, and the staff's attitude was poor. In all my overseas car rentals, this was the worst experience. Most importantly, they did not provide the car I wanted. I booked an Alfa Romeo Giulia but got a Volkswagen Touran instead, claiming it was an upgrade. Do two adults really need an MPV? If it weren't for the rain, my wife and child waiting for an hour and a half, and the long wait time, I would have canceled the order.

In my many times renting cars abroad, this was the worst experience. Most importantly, they didn't give me the car I booked. I reserved an Alfa Romeo Giulia, but they gave me a Volkswagen Touran instead, claiming it was an upgrade. There were only two adults, so why would we need an MPV? If it hadn't been raining, and my wife and kids hadn't been waiting for an hour and a half, and since it was past the free cancellation period due to the long wait, I would have canceled the order.

The procedures were clear and efficient, no unnecessary delays.

Hertz has great customer service and is very professional. I'll always use Hertz in the future.

The Italians' English is really poor, but their attitude is good, although slow.

It was terrible picking up the car. When we arrived at 10pm with pregnant wife and 2 under 4 it made no difference and we were 26th in the queue with the car rental place closing at 12pm. How can they not see that they would need more than 2 staff working. People were going crazy. We ended up having to spent £550 to get a car!

The process of borrowing and returning the car was quite fast.

It took a while to complete paperwork thus time. I’m not sure why as Zi am a Gold member and have rented from this office 4 times in the last 6 months. The car they finally gave me was not the category I rented and much larger than I wanted. I had to change it in the garage and had to wait again for a smaller car. All in all, it was a very long process to rent a car for a day.

Hertz were very professional

When picking up the car, a female staff member was deliberately making things difficult for us with a very bad attitude. Even though it was our turn, she intentionally allowed the foreigners behind us to go first. We had to find another female staff member who just started her shift to successfully rent the car. However, during the rental process, the staff member with the bad attitude tried to stop her colleague from assisting us. The staff member inspecting the car when returning it was nice, and the one handling the paperwork was acceptable. (No Chinese service available)

Queued for 2 hours; process took 1 hour, too slow.

The staff were friendly and patient in explaining everything in detail, always wearing a smile and did not try to sell any additional products.

Very good

There are a lot of people, but you can take a number and wait instead of standing in line. Since I bought insurance in advance from home, they did not try to sell me more. The lady at the counter didn't speak English very well.

The car pick-up process was clear and fast. The return process was equally quick; after inspection, the procedures were completed. Very user-friendly.

Excellent service by Hertz staff at FCO. Did not like handling or features of Fiat500X
