“London, York, Edinburgh, Lake District, Oxford, Bath, London
Unexpected Trip from York to Manchester”
About Enterprise:2.0/10
They couldn't solve problems at all. The phone call got transferred four or five times and they couldn't clarify anything even after half an hour. They cancelled the reservation on a whim and just took the money. We had to buy train tickets from York to Manchester at our own expense. They told us in York that they had communicated with the Manchester office and there would be a car. But when we arrived, they said they had received no such notification and there were no cars available. While our whole family was stranded at the airport worrying about our accommodation in Edinburgh that night, they just cancelled our order and left us to fend for ourselves. Terrible service!
The car rental company had great service. The car was in excellent condition. When returning the vehicle, the company quickly checked for any scratches and if the engine started, then immediately refunded the deposit.
They did not push insurance sales. The car pickup was quite fast, with two cars to choose from. We had more luggage and took some time to decide which car to take. I rented a RAV4 but ended up with an Eclipse, which had significantly less space. Overall, though, I was satisfied.
“Very disappointed when I received the damage bill.”
About Enterprise:9.7/10
I was really happy until I received a bill for 150 STG for bumper damage which was not there when I delivered the vehicle. This was highway robbery. The damage was not there at all.
The car rental shop next to the Tesco supermarket in Cheltenham, UK is very convenient and efficient for both picking up and returning the car. Very professional, and the vehicle was new. The return process was simple and everything went smoothly.
“terrible service from Enterprise at Glasgow airport....”
About Enterprise:5.3/10
Enterprise were terrible. queued for well over an hour at the checkin desk, then another hour waiting for the car, only to be eventually told that they didn't have a car for us at all. We booked a full sized van, but ended agreeing to take a medium sized vehicle as that was all they had left. we could barely fit out luggage in and had a very cramped and unpleasant onward journey. they weren't able to give us a refund as we had already pre paid. so we paid £550 for a £300 vehicle.... not at all happy.
They downgraded my selected car without prior notice. When I complained, customer service responded that the price difference between the two models was minimal.
Nightmare. Received car rental confirmation, but on the day of pick-up, they told me I couldn't get the car. Customer service mediation from Zuzuche was ineffective, and they refused to provide the car no matter what. Hotel and travel plans were already booked, but suddenly no car was available. What are we supposed to do? The Enterprise staff had a bad attitude, only saying 'No' and 'Nothing we can do,' with no intention of helping. Rushed to all major car rental companies in downtown, but all cars were sold out for that day. Finally managed to get the last manual car at a high price from Sixt in the suburbs after much effort. Currently still in the appeal process.
The car they provided was very poor. I originally booked a Ford Focus, which is supposed to be a large compact car, but they gave me a Kia Venga, which is significantly smaller and only qualifies as a compact car. When I asked the rental company about it, they said both are considered the same category despite the obvious size difference. The car was very dirty; it had been washed outside but had a lot of dust and trash inside. Additionally, the fuel tank was not full when I picked it up, and they didn't refund the extra fuel I returned with. The garage was underground without an elevator, so you either have to walk a long distance or take the stairs, making it inconvenient if you have large luggage. Also, unlike other rental companies that pre-authorize a deposit, they actually charge the money and then refund it when you return the car.
