I felt the counter staff rushed through the admin process so quickly and I ended up with over $100 of unexpected charges. The counter was very busy and there was a long queue all of which added to the pressure.
Car given was the wrong car-
2 Dr instead of 4 Dr.
Had to wait till they figured it out and brought a new one to the pick up location- bummer used part of our vacation time, But o well - the attendant was pleasant and working hard to figure it out.
The car broke down and the customer service was terrible and in fact the recommendations made by the customer service team were dangerous - they told us to drive it when the vehicle was not in a drivable condition and could have caused a huge incident if driven.
“First time user, happy with the experience and would definitely give EasyRentCars.Com another try”
About Budget:8.3/10
It was I little confusing having the the umbrella name EasyRentCars, then going to the Budget Counter, only to have my credit card charged by Avis, so I wasn’t sure who I was doing business with. This was just probably just a logistical issue at Fairbanks Airport, but there were no instructions on what to do/park your return rental in a lot that has all the major rentals using the same lot. The signage was good to record mileage, gas receipt ect. But it was absurd to inspect the car in the dark by ourselves (without an agent to witness) both picking up and dropping off. But I’m certain this again is an overall airport issue and not a one off. But at least have the parking lot better lit for all car rentals, our flight departed at 1:45am!
We were provided GPS that has Latin language in Miami and we had hard times to turn it to English, the lady at the counter didn’t replace it and didn’t assist in changing the language for us
Before providing the GPS they didn’t check if it’s in good condition or not, and on the way to Orlando we found it not working which caused us a huge delay as we got lost on the way and we had to use our mobiles to track our way to Orlando while we are being in a foreign country
In Orlando we were over charged for fuel charges while having in mind we returned the car in FULL fuel, and they charged us for the GPS while we were informing the gentleman it was not working
We were late for our flight and the office guy kept delaying us and asking us to pay for the fuel and the GPS despite what we were telling them to check in-front of us, and then they asked us to go look for the manager in another building instead of calling him for us!
This car was essentially new (1250 miles). Whoever preps the cars should be fired. The license plates on the car were noticeably crocked. Someone just drove the screws into the truck panel. Ford actually provides rubber gromets to locate the plate. Also the floor matts were still in the plastic bag in the spare tire area.
Budget were terrible. I've used Alamo for years and never had a problem. The minute that we arrived and went to pick up the car Budget were creating problems. They wouldn't accommodate us with any of the things that Alamo do as a matter of course, such as adding on an extra driver. They then allocated one car to us whether we liked it or not, whereas Alamo always give us a big choice of cars to choose from. Finally, Budget added on $55.44 to our bill when we dropped the car off, which I only noticed yesterday. When I phoned them they were less than unhelpful. The guy told me that we had returned the car without any petrol which was completely untrue and a blatant lie. I filled up the tank on the way to the airport so the tank was full when we dropped the car off. The guy also told me that we had returned the car late and took no notice when I tried to explain that we had been stuck in heavy traffic on the way to the airport. I also explained that we had dropped car off two hours late to Alamo previously and that they had bot charged us a penny for it. After falsely accusing us of giving the car back with no petrol in it you would have thought that they would have completely waived the "late return" charge, but no they would only give a partial refund. I will never use Budget again if I can possibly help it and I will do my best to make sure that no-one else uses it.
