It's okay, but I had to explain a lot. Even though I had already bought insurance, the rental company still insisted I buy their insurance, which took over half an hour. Eventually, I had to call QEEQ's customer service and then explain everything to the rental company staff. After a lot of back and forth, they finally processed it. They also required two different bank credit cards for the deposit, claiming the A4 is a luxury car and two cards are necessary. Fortunately, I had them. Overall, it was okay. Just consider it a travel experience.
I've rented from Hertz several times, and each time was very smooth with no issues. The service is very professional, and the process is simple and user-friendly. Bravissimo!
At pick-up, the amount given to me did not match the agreed order amount. The rental service resolved this. However, after returning home, I received several unexplained charges (fines) totaling nearly 2000 RMB. Hertz only sent an email, claiming there was a traffic violation caught by a traffic camera, with a deduction of 31 Euros. There were no violation photos, no evidence, and no official traffic tickets. The rental service explained that it was a 'violation management fee' charged by the car company, and the fine was separate, which feels unreasonable.
This was the most problematic car rental experience I've ever had! We waited in line for 4 hours to get the car, and the reserved model wasn't available. They gave us a problematic car with no fuel instead. Throughout the trip, the car had various issues and eventually broke down halfway, delaying our trip by an entire day. Customer service wasn't helpful either. Thankfully, the hotel owner helped us communicate with the rental company. It took two months of coordination with the rental platform to get a refund for the taxi fare incurred due to the car exchange. Hertz going out of business is not without reason!
1. The rented car's engine had quality issues and broke down shortly after setting off, 2. Few locations, making it impossible to switch to an automatic car during the trip, 3. Limited selection of available car models.
“Convenient reservation process with readily available Fiat 500s.”
About Hertz:10.0/10
I like the Fiat 500 because of gas mileage, ease of handling and parking. In Hertz’ purchase of their new fleet, there is no Bluetooth available in the cars and no option for a sunroof. It’s disappointing that the company has opted for the cheaper line of these automobiles. With modern use of navigation systems on smart phones, Bluetooth should really be available as a standard feature.
About QEEQ:10.0/10
Usually easy to book but when searching only for a city location, it usually turns up the airport locations which makes the search rather tedious.
