The counter staff was very nice. We originally booked a Qashqai, but they upgraded us to a Mercedes GLE due to unavailability.

Did not get the reserved car model, causing inconvenience in the trip.

Like: End to end reliability, condition of car, performance. When the former renter only refilled the vehicle to 3/4, we obtained a small refund to honour this.
Dislike: Hard to return at Luton Airport (car return not well sign posted) but not Hertzs fault. Airport needs to do better.

Like: Convenient place for our car hire.
Dislike: Please ensure all extras are included in your quotes. They can hit you for 40 lb plus’s tax for a one way fee. Double check or photo your car before leaving. They are ruthless regarding damage!

Like: It was great having the car ,we did travel every day .
Dislike: We had a very dirty car ,so very difficult to see if there was any damage prior to taking the car .

Upon arrival, they said there was a free upgrade promotion and asked me to sign in the upgrade section. They said I wouldn't have to pay the original £700+, but later denied it and said because I signed, I must pay.

The queue was very long.

Like: Car was low mileage and in good condition. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Dislike: High excess - There was an opportunity to lower it to zero but the additional cost meant the hire deal would not have been competitive.

The waiting time was quite long.

I picked up the car 3-4 hours later than scheduled. The rental company refused to provide the model I booked, citing that I did not inform them in advance. They insisted I pay extra for a different model. I had a contract with the car rental service and paid in full, so I'm not sure why I couldn't get the car I booked. It’s unclear whether the issue lies with the car rental platform or Hertz. During the rental period, I also had a flat tire which caused delays and affected my trip. Although I purchased full insurance from the rental platform, it wasn’t reflected in my Hertz order, meaning I have to handle the claim process after returning home. This adds inconvenience and consumes both effort and time. Currently, the claim process is underway. While the insurance company and the rental service might reimburse the tire costs, it's uncertain whether they will compensate for the time lost and the stress caused. I reserve the right to seek further compensation.

Various tricks and hidden fees. Quoted 1800 but actually charged over 6000.

Like: Quick, easy and best price I found on the net. All in all great!
Dislike: Location is a bit out of the way

The staff at the rental company were very enthusiastic and thoroughly explained the rental procedures. They carefully inspected the car and verified everything with us during pick-up.

The night before picking up the car, I realized I selected the wrong return time. I placed a new order and got a confirmation. However, when I went to the store the next morning, they told me they couldn’t process it in time since it was a last-minute request. As a result, I had to settle for a manual transmission, which caused some inconvenience with the car stalling occasionally.
