The car didn't have a full fuel tank - 7/8 instead. I filled the car back up to beyond 7/8 but was still charged $27 for fuel and $20 for service charge. It was the second time the car I'd booked wasn't avaiable and I felt I was given a lesser/older car which was dissapointing.
Basic car very inexpensive and it performed well over the 15 days and 2k km covered.
Car had a lot of bumps and scatches however for a basic run around it provided true value for money and surprisingly able to take two large cases in the boot.
The pick up area was not located directly at the airport. We had to walk for a good 5-10 minutes with my dad (who is an elderly person), then wait more than 15mins for a shuttle to drop us at the APEX site where we had to queue for 20mins before talking to a very slow and not competent person (for another 20mins before we could get the vehicle)
Apex provide a shuttle service from the airport to the pick up point in Queenstown. When we called for the shuttle to pick us up, no one answered the phone.

During the booking process it wasn't made clear that insurance was provided by QEEQ, not the rental car company.
Due to Covid-19 we had to leave for Auckland from Queenstown on 20th morning. We asked them for a refund of the remaining days to which they refused also when also asked for q courtesy car just for 2 hours they refused.
We aren't happy with the service provider.
I request for a refund for the remaining 3 days.
I didn't have to provide half of the information on your checklist. Not an issue for me but makes you wonder if it is up to date.
There was a year in the material in the foot well by the brake. Not on the photo list given which seemed odd. I took my own photo but wasn't asked about it. But then on dropping off the car their appeared to be little interest from staff. In fact I could have just dropped key in a box.
Again not really an issue for me as there were no issues.

See comment regarding checklist of items. On neither booking in New Zealand was I asked for the international drivers license if bought especially. Or my passport, just drivers license and credit card.

I picked up the car at the office at 9AM on last Sunday but experienced with the unfriendly, no service mind male staff at the counter. After we got in to the car, we noticed that the seatbelt at the back seat didn't work just before we drove out. Then the female staff was still care enough and changed the new car for us, but didn't talk anything, just kept me the key and disappeared. My first time worse car rental experience in NZ!

I rented the cars with this app 3 three already and it's very amazing and easy to book
Very kind and helpful pickup hall at Invercargill.
Car did well over the 4300+ kilometers. No issues with tyres even after so much driving on rough surface NZ roads. The windscreen wipers and washer bottle was used often over the many rain days of driving and yet never ran out of fluid.
After hours drop off in Auckland was a bit confusing initially but fairly easy and I didn’t get stranded. Great driving experience in beautiful NZ!

APEX rentals supply older cars. The condition of this 6 yr old veihicle was consistent with my expectations. The vehicle was a competent Toyota Corrola and although a lttle small for two large suitcases was never the less comfortable for two average sized adults. The pick-up at Christchurch and drop off at Picton were both very easy and hassle free.
We hired a second car on the North Island when the Covid-19 restrictions hit. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Liam and the team for accommodating the the needs of visitor requiring to retain a car after the lock down on 25 March. Many other rental companies gave their clients less than 24hr notice to return their cars to a rental compound. Without the vehicle and the ad hoc arrangements implemented for the drop off of cars at Auckland Airport we would not have been able to connect with our repatriation flight to the UK on 28 March. Thanks APEX!!!
All my dealings with Apex were easy. The staff were helpful, informative, and quick to respond to questions.
The car was more spacious than expected and a pleasure to drive.
Apex had no problems with us hiring the car for a one way journey between the Islands.
