You can arrive of East Coast Car Rentals - Melbourne Airport car hire by free shuttle bus.

Upon retrieving your luggage, you will receive an SMS notification on your mobile device containing a link to request the complimentary shuttle service from the car rental company. Alternatively, you may directly access the following portal to book your shuttle online: Shuttle Booking Portal: https://pickmeup.eccr.com.au/ Alternatively, please call for collection on 1800 474 258 and staff will advise instructions on where to wait for the shuttle. Last shuttle service will run 15 minutes prior to close.

Drop-off Instructions

Please return the vehicle to the car parking lot and park the car by instructions, then you can take the shuttle bus back to the airport for free. No shuttle bus off the business hours and please take a taxi back to the airport, which costs about AUD 18.

Why not clearly state that there is a shuttle service from Melbourne airport to 2 Tarmac Drive, at 30 minutes interval, and shuttle service operating hours, at this x location indicated clearly in a picture of the Melbourne airport map? i ended up having to spend A$35 to get a taxi from the airport to pick up location; and learned only when i returned the vehicle 7 days later, of the pickup service every 30 minutes. It's like the chef put in all his efforts to create the legendary masterpiece dish, and right before delivering to the customers, the waiter let the dish gets cold sitting for 30 minutes as he neglects it and do other stuff. You clearly intended for maximum customer satisfaction, hence the resources and brainpower put into ensuring there is the shuttle service. Why not advertise that CLEARLY and BOLDLY to make sure potential customers know it?

The service attitude was very satisfactory. After arriving at the airport, I called the store to get the information on where to wait for the free shuttle, which was actually easy to find. When you exit the terminal, you will see three lanes of traffic. The second lane is generally where hotel shuttles wait. Look for a brown sign with white letters, and you can wait near there. The East Coast shuttle is white with yellow letters and a big 'E'. This shuttle will take you to the store to pick up your car.

Renting a CRV for $39 a day, what more can you ask for? 'Fantastic!' The car had 45,000 miles on it, but it was well-maintained and still drove great. However, QEEQ told us insurance was included, but the rental company said it wasn't, and we had to buy it separately, and it wasn't zero deductible. In the end, we didn’t buy it from them. It's a small company located outside the airport, making returning the car convenient, with a shuttle to the airport. But it's limited to the airport; I stayed at the airport holiday inn and asked if they could pick me up at the hotel, but they refused unequivocally. I had to call a taxi to get to the company. The car wasn't very new, but the price was cheap. However, the AUD 300 deductible even with full insurance is not good. It's better to choose big companies like HERTZ that offer zero-deductible insurance.

In fact, East Coast Rentals' service was excellent. The only slight inconvenience was that it’s not at the airport, requiring a company shuttle to pick up the car. As soon as we arrived at the lot, we saw a fleet of spotless white cars, all very new. There were no hidden requirements; they simply asked if we wanted to purchase insurance without pushing it. The paperwork was done quickly and we drove off. After returning the car, we even received a text message about the rental details. Great value for money!

The car pick-up process was quick, but it's very far from Melbourne Airport! On the day of return, the keys got locked inside the car. When I called the rental company's phone number, they refused to assist. I had to seek help from the local tracking system, and a service person came to unlock the car! I can only say that the rental company is completely irresponsible in such incidents; it was the local tracking system department that was helpful, providing free service and taking no charge!

Overall acceptable. The car was quite new with just over 7000 kilometers. When I called after arriving at the airport, no one answered, so I went directly to the bus stop to wait for the shuttle, which was a very bad experience. Returning the car was straightforward; just drove into the return point. The staff didn’t say much, and I haven't received the bill yet. I'll check if there are any extra charges once it arrives.

Wanted a Corolla but got an MG3 instead, which they said was of the same class. Personally felt it was smaller, making it difficult to pack luggage. The car was relatively new with just over 17,000 km on it. Drove 1400 km in 4 days. The engine was a bit weak, especially on hills. Otherwise, the experience was quite pleasant.

The service attitude was fine, but the car model was swapped and the vehicle's condition was average. It was barely acceptable. The wheel alignment hadn't been done, causing the steering wheel to veer right—this wouldn't be much of an issue for experienced drivers. The insurance terms were unreasonable; if you didn't purchase additional insurance, any damage would cost AUD 5500, which felt more like a betting agreement.

They still tried to upsell the super insurance, but we decided to pay a bit extra so we wouldn’t have the $1,000 rental deposit tied up on our card and could add an extra driver. If we’d known this in advance, we wouldn’t have bought the super insurance online and would’ve just added it at the counter to avoid paying twice. The deposit amount is high and the hold lasts for a long time.
