“I would encourage you to use someone other than Budget”
About Budget:7.0/10
Car hadn't been cleaned inside, but we were in a rush with 2 kids desperate for bed so had to take it. Be careful with Budget's charges after return - twice they have tried to charge for fuel and after back-and-forth showing receipts they refund it.
Very satisfied. This is my first time using Budget. The service is similar to Alamo's, but Budget assigns a specific car while Alamo lets you choose any car.
“Great car, decent counter service, but very poor billing system.”
About Budget:10.0/10
The Jeep was a bargain and a great vehicle. But Budget kept billing my card an extra $1,500. Yep, they just charged it to the card 4 times throughout the booking, so around $6k in total which was all a mistake by Budget. So far two of them have been refunded, still chasing for the other two to be refunded. All up about 3hrs of my life spent on phone calls plus the hassle of my card going over it’s limited while waiting for these charges to get get reversed.
About QEEQ:10.0/10
Great deals and a simple, clear booking plan process. I’ve referred a bunch of mates their way!
“Good unassuming rental experience from Budget thru QEEQ at Chicago Midway Airport”
About Budget:9.0/10
The car was decent and ran well. It had advanced safety features such as all around cameras and adaptive cruise control. No real issues with this rental or the customer service interactions.
About QEEQ:10.0/10
The booking platform worked well as usual, I did receive two price drop refunds so appreciate QEEQs follow through in that regard.
This Chicago location is run jointly with Avis. Firstly, there are no clear signs indicating that members should go to the second floor while non-members stay on the first floor, so I wasted an hour in line. The funniest part is that I then waited another hour and a half on the first floor because all the cars were rented out and they were waiting for returns. I landed at 2 PM and didn't get the car until almost 5 PM.
It's okay. They gave me a new hybrid car that is fuel-efficient, but it has many features I don't understand. I wanted to switch to the model I had reserved, but they refused. The new system and model are a bit challenging for a middle-aged woman who doesn’t know much about cars.
