The car itself was fine, but a mixup with the Budget salesperson, who mistakenly thought we could not use a specific method of payment, which was then discovered to be fine, delayed our trip by just over an hour. We will not be renting through that location in the future.

Excellent friendly customer service. Very clear with no hidden costs or fees at the counter.

The car received was different from the one booked; they provided a lower-spec model.

They gave me a car with crack windshield and I have drived that car for 26 days! Also, car was not clean enough.

The car stank of cigarette smoke even though it states clearly you are not allowed to smoke in the car and will be charged for cleaning if you do. The moment we opened the boot we could smell it so Budget must have known about the problem. When we told them about it they said they didn’t have another car to offer us as they were a small agency. Terrible experience.

When I arrived, I was the only one there, no queues. The counter attendant was an Indian man with a very bad attitude. I was using a translated version of my Chinese driver's license, which is entirely in Chinese. He couldn't understand it and kept asking me various questions, including where my hotel was, my phone number, etc. I just asked why other rental stores didn't require this information, but this one did. He rudely replied that their system required it, and if I didn't want to provide the information, I could choose not to rent. It's totally fine to provide this information, but his attitude really upset me. It's the first time I've encountered such poor customer service at a car rental company.

I rented a Ford Escape. The counter staff suggested that they would try to see if they could upgrade our car for free. They helped us upgrade to a Toyota 4Runner which was great. The staff claimed it would be free. But I was charged the upgrade free in the end which I overlooked in the small print and signed for.

Credit card charged £130 with no explanation why Car not available on pick up , so was given another, which was OK, just took a while to get the paperwork sorted

No upselling, super fast and good service, very convenient to pick up the car.

Customer service was very attentive, explanations were clear, and the wait time was short.
