Returned the car with a full tank but got charged 18 dollars plus tax

An excellent experience

When I arrived at the car rental company, they told me I hadn't purchased insurance and suggested I ask the rental platform about it. When I contacted the rental platform, they told me to ask the car rental company, as they were not sure. I went back to the car rental desk, and the representative said my order showed no insurance and advised me to spend around 290 to get one. Being abroad with no other option and not wanting to risk any issues, I spent 300 NZD for comprehensive insurance plus a full tank of gas. So is this the car rental company's issue or the rental platform's issue? I'm not sure. Anyway, I drove for seven days without any problems. The roads were great and driving carefully was no issue at all!

The two Indian girls at the front desk were quite nice.

The waiting time in line was a bit long, service staff were slow, roughly 1.5 hours. The car pickup was quick once the paperwork was done.

The reserved car model wasn't provided, and they claimed it was because Mitsubishi cars have poor quality. That's astonishing information. If Mitsubishi cars are that bad, why haven't they gone out of business? And why are you still renting them out?

It was the off-season and quite late, so there were only two or three people in line.

My wife and I provided international driving permits and translation copies, but they said they couldn’t be used. We had to spend 120 NZD to get local certification. I don't understand why you sent me an international driving permit, claiming it would work in New Zealand, but it couldn't be used there. It wasted a lot of our time and disrupted our planned route. It was terrible. If it couldn't be used, what was the point of sending me the international driving permit?

No Chinese service, couldn't consult on key issues, also incorrect return time on app resulted in extra charges

The attitude of the rental company was bad. We requested a car inspection at 10 PM, but the store staff hurried us to leave, saying it would affect their closing time. However, when picking up the car, they immediately noticed a barely visible dent. The attitude of the Asian staff at the store was particularly poor.

I feel tricked by this company. They charged me for a full tank of gas and said they would refund it if I returned the car with a full tank. But when I returned the car, they said the refund wasn't possible.
