On arrival, I was made to wait over 40minutes to be seen to, then I had to pay the full insurance premium instead of the deposit as my credit card only had my first name initial, not my full first name, so the car cost me in excess of £500 for 9 days. I still haven’t received my fuel deposit back. The women in reception wasn’t helpful at all, I was made to feel like I was wasting her time - tutting, huffing and puffing... she sternly told me my options were, pay it or cancel the hire and I would lose the £120 I had already paid and stuck in Rome airport with my wife and child at 11pm at night. I will not and will advise friends and family not to be using Gold Car ever again. pissed off is an understatement....

I waited for 2 hours in a line up and they proceeded to charge me 200 Euros for being 2 hours late for a pick up. I had already paid for the entire day and they still charged me. This happened to a lot of people in the line. Everyone was very upset. This company offers cheap prices online but steals and lies to you when you're at the counter. EasyRentCars is a great website however dealing with Goldcar will tarnish your reputation. Goldcar is the worst company and customer service I have every dealt with in over 35 years of travel.

Goldcar tried to con me out of additional costs, adding insurances I didn't need and even to now, after the rental I'm still sure they added things to the contract I didn't need. They are thieving con men and I will never, ever use the company again and will be actively publicising their scam and for people not to use them.
When we received the car, it had only a quarter of the fuel tank filled and it was pretty dirty on the outside.
When we came to drop off the car, there was no one in the office for about 10 minutes.
Il nous a fallu 5 heures pour récupérer la voiture .Il nous on fait attendre 5h pour récupérer la voiture à l'aéroport. et des amis y sont venus 2 jours avant c'était la même chose.Ils louent les voitures mais il les ont pas alors qu'on avait réservé un mois à l'avance.
As expected, the car was working well and perfectly clean.
The staff wasn't so friendly but It was late so it could explain why.
Deposit need to be done on credit card but it was really difficult to get this info in the conditions so be careful as you have to pay 99euros more if you don't have a credit card.

Goldcar informed me insurance excess was fixed at €1600 and this could apply even for the smallest of damage. They almost insisted that I take extra insurance for €300+ addition.
Hugely disappointing, especially as the car we got had many many scratches and issues that I had to take 12 photos on pick up.

Impossible de récupérer la voiture avant l'horaire indiqué, nous avons attendus 2h30 à l'aéroport, Gold Car voulait nous faire payer une assurance à 14€/ jour x 14 jours pour pouvoir la récupérer avant! - Nous devions récupérer la voiture à 17h30, nous ne l'avons eu qu'à 18h20! Personnel désagréable que ce soit avec nous ou même avec les autres clients! Une file d'attente incroyable! BREF, service 0
The girl on the counter in Mallorca was absolutely unfriendly, was chewing gum while she was talking, told me that my credit card isnt working, so that i am broke and have no money. it was just a problem with my bank. she threw the credit card on the counter in front of all other people.
Très déçus du SAV, arrêtez de payer vos collaborateurs à la commission! C'est du vol, nous avons réservé et payé à partir du 10/08 pour 12h (réservation confirmée et réglée !) arrives avant 17h et notre véhicule re-loué Â une autre personne! On nous a obligé à louer 1 véhicule de catégorie supérieure avec un supplèment de 108E!!! Â quoi sert de réserver? nous avons rendu le véhicule 5heures plutôt que prévu et pas de réduction évidemment. Nous ne ferons aucune pub vous concernant et ne renouvèlerons pas avec votre Société nous avons le sentiment d'avoir été pris pour des pigeons. Et c'est très regrettable. Un deal est un deal!
Staff didn’t have a clue about several things. Couldn’t find a car for us, couldn’t explain the requirement for all the additional charges, had to change the car so had to wait longer, car was battered. Charged us a diesel tax fee but gave us a petrol car! Awful

La première voiture cherchée avait le turbo HS, résultat après 20km j'ai eu du mal à revenir à l'agence pour échanger la voiture ! (Elle se mettait en défaut toutes les 2 minutes de roulage).
Heureusement la seconde n'avait pas de soucis.
Plutôt que de réaliser une préautorisation, ils prélèvent le montant de la garantie, c'est donc une enveloppe de 1500€ qui est débitée et non simplement bloquée, le temps de la location, une manière déguisée de faire gonfler le chiffre d'affaire de l'agence, mais pas très sympathique pour le client. Au moins on est prévenu lorsqu'on récupère le véhicule.
I am still waiting for the deposit unblocking after returning the car. Hope all will be ok.
