AVIS CAR RENTAL REVIEWS IN ITALY

Rented the car for 6 days and was inexplicably charged over 420 euros! The Naples store supposedly operated until 11 PM, but they stopped accepting car returns before 9 PM. I handed over the keys without any receipt or explanation, only verbal confirmation that everything was okay. The next morning, I received a bank message indicating a charge of 269 euros. Including the deposit, a total of over 420 euros was taken! Unbelievable! Do not rent from this company. I'm not a novice; I've driven over 7-8,000 kilometers in Europe, and this is the first time I've encountered something like this!! It's ridiculous. I strongly advise everyone driving in southern Italy to get full insurance! It's very important. The drivers there are crazy!

Poor customer service just could understand both he and she. English was Terrible. Not to mention it took over 1hr to pick up the vehicle. Speaking to the customers waiting around they also we're waiting over 1hr.

Not many people, efficiency was acceptable.

After paying more to get a nice car it, Would have been nice to get the car we were expecting. The alternative was nice but it wasn't an Audi.

No one answered the phone, the store doesn't exist, didn't get the car.

We booked a famous Michelin restaurant in Positano, and if we didn't arrive on time, we would be fined 30 euros per person. We went to pick up the car at 9 am as scheduled, but were told there was no car and we'd have to wait until 11 am. When we went back at 11 am, there was still no car. The whole day passed without a car, and we missed our restaurant reservation. The store staff offered no solutions that wouldn't cost us, and when it was his lunch time, he just left. Our two-day rental was ruined the first day, and we were fined 210 euros by the restaurant. The next day, there was still no car! We immediately switched to a new company and things got better. We booked a two-day full insurance rental but haven't gotten any refund till now. The car we rented temporarily cost as much as our original two-day booking, and we were still fined by the restaurant. Really want to cry.

There was an Audi A3 in the garage, but they insisted on giving me a Citroen C3. How can that be the same? Moreover, they charged €71.54 and I still don't know if I can get it back. I returned the car with a full tank of fuel.

It's was very great to take a car and go through all Amalfi coast. Car was for me and my girlfriend, so we satisfied totally.

Very quick to find a car.

The refund was deducted on the spot without any explanation.

Shame that a company which has a slogan :"we try harder" provides just 1 out of 11 counters for pick -up service.

A pity that we have neither received the car we booked nor got a car from same category.

The rental company staff were very polite, and the pick-up and drop-off process was relatively smooth. However, at the counter during pick-up, they tried to upsell us on personal insurance, and the final bill at drop-off included an unclear tax charge that needs further discussion.

Booked a Mercedes E Class, got a Ford

The counter staff tried to handover to us a manual drive car first and then tried to give us a smaller automatic car than what was booked for. after arguing and wasting 30 mins we got the car that we had booked. overall the car was in great condition and everything went smooth

Excellent service and great pricing.

There were only two service counters, but even with few people in line, we waited over two hours. We had purchased damage insurance, but they insisted we buy it again. Although they eventually removed the charge, it wasted a lot of time.
