“We will choose Budget if we want to travel to New Zealand again.”
About Budget:10.0/10
The staff is helpful and the car condition is good. We saved more on the fuel consumption. Driving from Auckland, Rotorua and Wellington without worrying.
Driving the car was initially challenging since it was larger than what I'm accustomed to, especially considering it was my first time handling such a big vehicle. However, as the trip progressed, I found it easier to manage. Fortunately, there wasn't a lengthy wait at the counter to collect the car, and I appreciated the helpful and patient customer service provided during both the pickup and return processes.
About QEEQ:9.0/10
Booking through the platform was a breeze. Compared to other platforms I considered, Qeeq stood out as user-friendly and straightforward, both in terms of pricing and the booking process. I found it easy to compare prices and secure a confirmation reservation without any hassle.
Had to wait over an hour before a vehicle was available, but when one was
Available, it was a nice upgrade.
The return was a nightmare, with no place to refuel nearby, and access at the Auckland International terminal very digfficult to find and very poorly signposted.
Budget and Avis are the same company. Overall, the process of picking up and dropping off the car was pretty convenient. Since there were no special circumstances in between, we only interacted with the rental company during pick-up and drop-off. Booked a Kona, but got an 80,000 km Mitsubishi ASX instead.
Highly recommend Europcar at Auckland Airport. They provided two very new cars, one had over 1000 kilometers and the other over 5000 kilometers. Both cars were in excellent condition.
The store had a short queue, but the staff was pretty slow and often answered phone calls. Initially, I chose Avis despite being double the price because I wanted a new car and good service. However, the actual cars provided were quite old, one had nearly 40,000 km and the other almost 30,000 km. The Mitsubishi SUV was also outdated. Later in Auckland, I rented from EUROPCAR, and got two very new SUVs with one having 1,500 km and the other 5,000 km. The car features were also excellent.
The service was quite good, and the explanation was detailed. However, the car was really old with over 190,000 kilometers. It was maintained, but the child seat was extremely dirty.
