They even wrote everything out for us on a sheet of paper, going through each point like insurance coverage, fuel type, return time, and how much free delay was allowed. Our English isn’t great, but the way they explained it was really clear and easy to understand.
Staff were pretty nice, and I’d booked a VW Golf but they upgraded me to an Audi Q2 on arrival, which was a pleasant surprise. The downside was how slow everything was – picking up the car took ages.
The pickup location is a bit far from the airport, which isn’t very convenient if you’re hauling several large suitcases. Other than that, everything else was fine.
My flight landed in the morning and as soon as I walked out of the terminal I could see the shuttle pickup point (NH Hotel). At that time there seemed to be no other customers, the driver was already waiting so I didn’t even need to call. The rental office is about a 10-minute drive from the airport and the whole pickup process was pretty quick. Just make sure you bring all your travel companions with you when you go to pick up the car, because the parking lot you see right outside the terminal doesn’t offer any short-term free parking for drop-off; the minimum charge is 6€ even if you’re only there for 3 minutes.
The rental company was great too. The car was pretty much brand-new with only about 450 miles on it, and the return process was quick with a fast inspection and paperwork.
Staff at pickup were super patient, and the car was almost brand new. We got a diesel Kia Carnival and it handled six people plus six suitcases through mountain roads with more than enough power.
First time renting with Alamo. I know in Europe you usually don’t get the exact car model you book, but this time they gave us a nearly brand‑new Peugeot with just over 500 km on it. It fit 7 people without feeling cramped, and we drove it through Sweden, Finland, and Norway for almost 6,000 km. The back seats were really comfortable. What I really appreciated was there was no hard sell on insurance. I’d definitely rent with Alamo again if I get the chance.
